phew...wat a long thread... hey guys, y not we just continue enjoying reefing? the arofanatic thread is really super long and seems like it won't be ending soon... like i always say, buy wat u like, dun buy wat u dun trust... it doesn't really bother me whether it is made in singapore, china, india, africa or wherever..as long as i feel that it works, i will buy... but a "made in singapore" product claiming to be from US seems a little too dishonest. ..then again, if its really good and cheap, dun think too much loh..

actually t5 is not as cool as many think.. if 6 tubes are used, your hood will be fully covered, which will actually hinder heat transfer... another thing tat i dun like about t5 is that 1 ballast can only fire 2 tubes, which means more money...same thing for the tube...and they dun last as long as MH bulbs...

i agree with dr evil...kapoh is good enough... if done properly, it should last a life time..

i think the size i different...u might wanna check with Dr evil, see whether he can mod for u...

your tank is not mature enough for a mandarin...mandarin feeds on copepods, and usually new tanks dun have this kind of food in abundance... perhaps your LRs already has some copepods...perhaps u might wanna dose more planktons to increase the copepod's populations so tat your mandarin will not stuff..

i heard before that they filter nitrate as one of their nutrients, but how much i really dunno...and also tat the bigger clams are more effective which i see tat u already have big big ones...

y 3ft?? go for 4 ft or 2ft so tat u can utilise the MH... a single MH usually has a spread of a 2ft square... 3ft tank, u'll need 2 X 250W, which means u might be wasting 25% of the lights..tat's one of the reason i am going for a 2ft cube...

but he say taste like seaweed...he didn't say smell like seaweed.... hahahaha

aiya, so simple... dun like dun buy... its just a $10-20 item, y make yourself understand how the company works and ask how is it manufactured?? all chemicals/ingredients used to produce Aquaz products can be found on their label and website, so wat issit more that u are asking for?? their manufacturing process? your question ranged from how come no seal, to how come not cloudy, to where issit manufactured, to wat is OEM, to y the mods are "defending" Aquaz... i think "no seal" has been answered "not cloudy" also answered "where issit manufactured" not answered due to confidentiality issue "OEM" Ekia explained "y the mods are "defending" Aquaz" also answered by DB i think tat u are trying to seek info to help all of us to understand more on Aquaz products..but if things boil up to this extend when a lot of needless words are used, its quite uncalled for... bottomline, dun buy wat u dun trust..if u have doubts dun use it..if u wanna try dun regret.. i've been using Aquaz and before that reefez for as long as i've been reefing and see no adverse effects...

i also noticed that it will shift itself when tilted awkwardly..maybe u can make it shift by itself to the sandbed loh...easier to take out..

i am willing to take 4 of the tubes...2 X actinic and 2 X 20kk (10kk also can)... but must be cheap cheap lah... the cheaper the better!!! anyway, i need a full fixture of 4 X 24W, but 1 pair for each tank...so most likely will have to tear down the retrofit...anyone wanna share?? i think i must change my nick to cheapo
