hi all, i have about 40ltr of sea water tat was previously used for my q-tank...after my PBT passed away, i stored the water in a water container and covered up the cap...its been about 3weeks i think....can i re-use the water (wah lau 1/2 a packet of salt leh, about $20)?or will it kill my LS? any valuable advises??

both thumbs up.....very nice set-up...compared to mine....my frens all say mine is a FOWLR tank....ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS WAY!!!! hahahaha no money to stock up and also, still learning therefore don't dare to stockup my LPS....

well, not only tunze will kill anemone but all PH tat are in the tank are potential anemoe shredder....it happened to me.....my god!!!! it was hell of a mess and stink....had to do 50% water change.....the ammonia spike and toxic released by the anemone killed even the hardest damsels..... it is not the tunze's fault, it is the anemone's fault coz they are the ones that got too close to the pump in the 1st place....

since no one objects to my idea, then i'll juz do it.... hope i won't come home one day and see my house flooded....

ReDDeviLs good tat it'll be convenient 4 u to collect it at my place....actually he did offer them to me but i really dun haf the money now....very sad....quite a few good pieces of LR i would say....since then, u'll arrange with him personally then i'll juz be the middleman.... u really hunting down all the LR in SRC....hahahahha

as mentioned..... the LR belongs to five for fighting but now it is in my house.... reason being: he doesn't have a spare tank to store them, so temporarily dumped in my sump.... so if there are buyers, can collect from my place instead of the owner's place. i would say it's about closing 10kg, some huge ones also....and i think about 2 tonga branches about 1ft long.... will help him take a pic tomolo when i take all the LRs out....gotta prepare for my new tank to come....

wah five for fighting, tat was fast...... anyway, the LR is at my place in woodlands currently.... five for fighting, i'll charge u $10/per day rental can liao....so far 5 days liao....so $50 can liao....hahahahha anyone who wants it can collect at my place also if it is more convenient....but don't pm me....pm the seller himself....don't wanna create confusion.... five for fighting....if the buyer wants to collect at my place juz gimme a call and inform me.... collection at woodlands can be arranged any day before 5pm....

i think u haf to becareful of your fishes being sucked into the overflow pipe...easiest method is to use a filter sponge to wrap around the hole and if possible cover it with eggcrate to prevent snails from crawling in...

but if i use the 1st method, that means a stronger pump, which will in turn cost more and higher electricity bills too....aiyo....dilemma....

but my main concern is the overflow pipe in the 2nd pic....will there be any problems if it is done this way?? coz it really puzzles me y most tank makers make them according to the 1st pic instead of the 2nd pic...cost-wise, i think its about the same rite? won't cost them much more to make it according to my idea isn't it? i suspect that the problem might be clogging of the overflow pipe, but can't visualize why and how can it happen....anyone can advise??

i think brand of pl lights is not really important...it is the tubes tat u need to take note....anyway, i haf a set of PL for sale...i'm upgrading to MH....y not u go straight for MH?? i regretted getting the PL cos after all, one day u'll go for MH.... http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14480 by the way, my PL though i use for my 3ft tank (i place it on the euro-bracing), it is also suitable for 2ft...its about 2.5ft long and it comes with stand, so u can mount it on your tank for sure.pm me if you are interested....

Dear Mods, very sorry, posted this on the wrong forum, pls helpl me shift it to somewhere that is suitable....thanks a million... juz wondering if i can do it this way....my reason for doing it this way is to fully utilise the pump's flowrate. in the 1st pic, it shows that the return pump piping includes a lot of elbows and definitely longer distance as compared to the 2nd pic.... will there be any possible danger if the overflow pipe is done in the 2nd pic... juz wondering wat is the pros and cons to the 2 different set up....pls advise....thanks...

hi all, i went to a few reefers' homes to take a look at their tanks and notice 1 thing about the sump....the picture below shows the more common method of connecting the overflow pipes and the return pump pipes.... red being the overflow pipe and blue shows the return pump pipe...
