my suggestion, place them in a LFS.... i've heard bad remarks about anemone.... 1) they release toxic when stress 2) stings the hell out of your other corals 3) shredded when they move too close to powerheads 4) move too much 5) add to bio load i used to have 2 anemones, 1 got shredded, the other sold away....not really a good choice for long term.....

a stupid question.... monthly how much issit (electricity bills) roughly to run a 1/2hp chiller? issit much much lesser than running air-con 24/7??

sea cuke and anemones...how stupid can they get!!!that's one of the reason y i dun want to put any extra PH in my tank....i believe it is either use sea cuke to clear dirt on the sand or use a tunze / PHs to keep the sand bed clean anyway, pls quickly do a 50% water change....u might also need dose NUTRAFIN CYCLE to clear away the ammonia and nitrite.... do another 50% water change over the weekend to clear away the toxic tat the sea cuke release.... alternatively, catch all the LS and dump into my tank.....i have nothing in my tank now....but juz tong pang, when ur tank is ok...u come and catch loh....i stay in woodlands....hotel fee is $2 per head per day....breakfast, dinner and lunch provided...hahahahha...no fee lah.....

i believe most reefers would recommend beckett....check with the SPS experts...skimmers are more important for them as SPS demands much much more than normal corals....

i think it depends on your overflow pipes....if there's 2 durso pipes then should be alrite....i dun haf a big tank so i'm not too sure...

a beckett uses a very strong pump to create a jet spray and bubbles...theorectically, it doesn't seem to be good, as the contact time of the tank water and bubbles is bare minimal and the bubbles created are not very fine,in fact u will see big bubbles form...but apparently,most pple who uses it will only say "its a damn good skimmer"...juz check out our boss's alvyfoamer, it really skims a hell lot of shit.... a needle wheel kind, uses the modified impeller to chop the air into very very fine bubbles, which theorectically, is the most important thing in skimmers.a good one like H&S or Deltec, only receives good comments from users... budget-wise, i believe the beckett should be more expensive, that's y it's better, value for money....but if u are not thinking of a full SPS tank like our boss and deepblue and a few others, then a cheaper H&S would be good enuf.... if not go to the traditional venturi kind like Weipro if u are on a very tight budget....

barracuda does have a point...this way the chances of having a freezing spot(ie: the left side of the tank is not as cold as the right side) in the tank is much lower.... but anyone else doubt so??

if u dun want to drill any holes, then u've gotta get yourself a external overflow system...our sponsor Ian sells it, its called I~box....i think.. if otherwise, u might wanna DIY yourself by searching thru the DIY forum... the sump can be easily purchased from most LFS, should cost u not more than $30, since your tank is only 2ft,so at most your sump will only be 2ft. to be very frank, i would suggest u get a totally new set, tank(with internal overflow) + sump + stand / cabinet. coz u might end up spending more than buying a new set. simple equation: 2ft tank + sump + stand = appriximately $150-200 i-box + sump = approximately $150 as for the DIY version,i'm not too sure...unless u are very very good in it and fully understands how an overflow works and how to prevent highly possible failure of overflow (flooding your house),i do not recommend it as failure rate is quite high... it might seem easier to DIY a sump + overflow...but i haf done a few DIY stuffs, but because of poor workmanship, it doesn't really work very well...

hi all...i did a search in the forum but can't find anything.... anyone care to explain wats the diff between a cheap atman pump and a so called magnetic pump like Resun MD40?? i don't intend to buy any tunze or add any pumps into my tank(temperature problem), so need a strong pump to create the waves....issit a good idea to only use the return pump to create waves??? are ehiem pumps good enuf? my neighbour has spare and willing to sell to me at $60 but i dunno the model....he said it got it at $100++ mine is a 3ft X 1.5 X 2ft(height) tank...intend to modify the return flow to the center of the tank and point it slightly downwards...
