its has been quite sometime since my previous updates.. have upgraded to a 4ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft tank and during transition suffer some casualties and those managed to go through with the transition flourish... My tank comprises mostly zoas and lps.. there are some sps which started from frags..(frags of sps and some zoas are from Cedric and now have grown into colony hehe!!!!) the dunken coral is the longest since day 1... they are pretty hardy and really like this coral. Fishes are mostly nano fishes.. comprises of mostly gobies... 2 green band goby, 1 red spotted goby, 2 neon goby, 1 tail spot benny, 1 court jester goby, 1 helfrichi goby, 1 blue gudgeon as well as invertebrates sand dollar urchin, pink cucumber, emerald crabs, anemone shrimp, arrow shrimp, clapping shrimp, squating lobster, hermit crab, sand stars... etc the records is done by my iphone 3gs.. so apologise if the image is not very clear... btw if anyone can guide me in terms of how to edit the movies with music.. cos not very pro in IT stuff haha... it will be very much appreciated thanks IMG_0144.MOV

i have been using NSW from the east and once a month i change almost 90% of the water and all live stocks and corals seem to enjoy the water change.. maybe i m lucky!!! nothing had happened so far ;p ... i used to use DI water and new salt mix and follow a routine of changing just 2 big bucket per week but in average it took me about 1 to 2 hours ... just for the change... and had been doing that routine for almost 17-18 years... and already sick and tired of the new salt mix change... i am a happy man now as now i got this option for NSW which just merely took me 15 mins all in all..... ;P ;P

yes bro.. i did buy the 10 and they seem to disappear out of sight.. but my aptasia are reducing in nos... so probably they are working secretly haha.. and probably will try to keep them by getting some aptasia for them to feed beside.. my sump tank has some baby aptasia which is why the aptasia keep reappearing..
-
thanks bro for your berghia nudibranch.. and seems like my aptasia has reduced in nos.. haha.. cheers

well.. probably i got it 2nd hand.. but it gives out alot of stray currents which is suppose to be normal from other maxspect users.. but for almost 1k+ lights i think the stray current is a bit to hard to bite... every now and then i would get a current shock... 2nd was the light control by the driver... although exchange for a new set... the blue just dont turn on.. and i need to drive it down to the supplier to get it fixed which till to date.. i still dont have the time.. did ask the supplier to dropby to help me to solve the problem and also did suggest to pay for the transportation fees but to date.. supplier still not free... talking about it.. it has been over a couple of months... (overall not a very happy owner of maxspect) for the lights source I think this area is quite satisfactory (good for LPS but SPS wise not really) .. heat is not an issue other then that nothing much to comment

well.. for stray current it may not be from the plug but it may also from the light set itself.. which explain why we can feel electric currents on the set... this is something i feel disappointed since i have high hopes on the light set... but all this stray current is something which i can still accept.. it is the discrepancies which happen to the chiller thermostat... i cant use a external thermostat cos the chiller can only tune down to 25degrees... and the fluatuation can varies 3 degrees... imagine the chiller on at 27 degrees and off at 26 degrees in a matter of few seconds.. if this keep going the chiller will bound to spoilt... sighhh... damn sian...
-
well... going to do all the necessary testing today.. hopefully can resolve the issue...sighhh
-
hi bro... i dont think is the leaking of the electricity... it might be due to the drawing of the electricity of the maxspect that causes the flutuation of the thermostat reading... cos everytime i off the maxspect the chiller temperature reading is back to normal... i did prompt DE but so far no response from them yet... and no answer to that yet... the previous owner did have the same problem... and it was reflected to DE... too bad i wasnt informed abt it... but will try to resolve the issue my side here...
