  1. hi neokn... well what i will do i will keep it in a separate tank to quarantine it 1st and if u do not have a quarantine tank then you can place them in a separate container big enough for the fish to swim around... and let it settle down for a day... normally they will not start eating due to the stress unless it has already been train to eat frozen food from LFS.. and so far i have success feeding it brine shrimp... if u want to tempt it to eat what you could do is buy live brineshrimp which cost about $3 per packet and it could last you for 3 days.. and tempt it with the live brineshrimp it should start eating on the 2nd or 3rd day if your water quality is good... then slowly change to frozen brineshrimp.... remember to make sure it is eating well for mininium of 1 full day before letting it go because there will be fights between your existing fish and the new regal and only release it when the lights are out.... this will minimise the stress for the fish....
  2. hi.. neokn...the pic you put up.. the 1st fish has a yellow belly while the lower pic is greyish .... the upper pic is more expensive but the most expensive specimen comes from red sea... because the body has more orange compare to those from madives... and yes... my regal has the spot on the dosal fin and till date it is still around but showing sign of disappearing... the second pic which you put up ... it is still a juv.. as you can still see the spot on the dosal fins....once it grown to adulthood the spot will disappear and I think you could tell the difference of the colour of the fish between the 2 pics.... and hence the price varies accordingly too... hope that helps.... take care
  3. hi neokn... you could get regal angel in sealife which is at balestier and reborn.. but most of the specimen is grey belly... if you are looking at the yellow belly regal angel from madive it will be a long wait most of the lfs don't really bring them in unless u wanted the regal angel from red sea which marine life do bring in quite regularly. The shop is at hong leong garden. But if you are looking at only 1" size... i don't think you going to find it anywhere beside for that kind of size it is very difficult to keep in captivity as the fish are picky on the food they eat. Ideal size will be around 2" to 3" size and they need very good water quality if not... u will be wasting lots of yr money cos... if they are not feeding they will be gone in no time.... probably you have to train it to eat frozen food before letting it go into your main tank because once it goes in hiding... and doesnt eat.. it will die quickly especially so for juvenille. Hope this information is useful for you and if you could keep it well.. you will have lots of pleasure watching it... and it is a very beautiful fish. I know cause I have a regal from red sea for almost a year brought it around 2" size and now coming to 3½" inch size and still growing.... ps.. regal angel can grow to quite a big size.....
  4. yes bro.. you mean you brought yr gold flake at 15.. if that is the case it is really a good price... cos.. most of the gold flake doesnt come in this price...where u get it from bro??.. pls let me know.... thks...
  5. Normally the price is around 50 to 60 but that will depends on the individual LFS. Unless the LFS bring in the blue spotted jawfish.. but it is very rare too, haven't seen 1 yet... after so many years of keeping this hobby.
  6. Yellow head jawfish is a very timid fish and when it keep jumping above the water it signified that it is under stress. Hamannbmw, it is a good sign that the jawfish has burrow itself into the sand bed, do watch out for it and try not to disturb the fish too much and at the sametime try feeding it with live brineshrimp. If its start feeding then it should be stablised and in no time getting used to the captivity enviroment. Most of the time when the yellowhead jawfish is under stress they will developed ich which is quite fatal. Majority of the time the fish just die off. So try not to frighten it ya... and after this phase.. you will enjoy this little fellow cos.. it is a very beautiful fish to have.
  7. hi rav.... nice golden angel.. but beware if you going to keep any sps.. cos this angel will clean up yr sps till it is sparkling white... and nice goldflake angel.. how much u got for it... cos i have 1 too... mine is abt 2 inch and attaining adulthood... if i m not wrong yours is abt 1 inch in size cos... don't get to see any fin turning black... do pm me for the cost of yr goldflake angel... just want to do some survey on the pricing of such rare fish...
  8. hi.. just my thoughts... all this statement depends on which angle or perspective we are standing at. We cannot conclude whether the fish is happy or sad but the least we could do is to equip ourselves with the knowledge and equipment to provide the best enviroment for our LS. Most of the death is cause by irresponsible hobbyist who do not wish to take the time and effort to understand the needs for all this LS. In the wild all this LS have to face life and death every single day, they have to fend for themselves if not they will end up in someone else stomach. Imagined you are the one who is every now and then fending yrself against predator do you think you will be happy living in this kind of enviroment. I think you have watch certain thriller movies esp those whom trying to escape from serial killers. Can you imagine the amount of fear and stress the victim have to go through. So all this is just plain thoughts which we can't really answer but be damn well that if you going to keep any pets so be it fishes, dogs, birds...etc we better be responsible and have the time and commitment for all this pets. If we don't have the willingness to commit ourselves please stay away from all this animal cause we will be murderer to all this pets. cheers
  9. hi jd_n... has pm u already pls let me know when to collect thks....
  10. gramma loreto(royal gramma) are from the US forida but due to poor contacts, high handling cost as well as unethical practise by some of the Forida supplier, local LFS find it not worth taking the risk to bring in the fish. The cost of a IMO gramma may cost in the region of $50 to $70 as compare to $25 for the brazilian gramma which is half the price.
  11. hi.. all.. i personally like the idea and how abt forming a group to do constant research on it who knows we may invent something out and i will be the 1st to join such group...
  12. hi i want the pink birdnest.... pls pm me where to collect it thks...
  13. hi guys.. talk to a few suppliers and LFS.... due to the raid.. quite a number of them are planning to get the CITES for the corals and rocks... and the price will be going up and up and away....
  14. well relax bro... if the glass is so easily broken ... it will break long ago... so relax... cos.. it won't just break like that.. unless you did something to it... such as.. adding LR ... or accidentally knock something onto it... etc.... so.. don't worry too much.. yaa.....
  15. well.. u need not be too stress abt it... the glass won't break so easily unless your live rock is giving pin point pressure on the glass ... i use to have tank abt the same thickness as you .. and it serve me well enough... so don't worry too much ....
  16. yup.. the colour was vibrant reddish orange.... and it was one of the best pair i have seen in terms of colour and pattern ... no regrets... too bad.. you have to sell them... the male have the same colour as the female now... will monitor them for a while... present moment feeding them with live brineshirmp... and they should be in my main tank soon....once again thks

  20. Well ladies and guys out there, please keep our cool. Firstly, for those who are stubborn and would not listen, no matter what we said it won't change their attitude so it is useless to even advice what they need or need not do. What is important is the readiness to share and exchange our experiences with those who are willing to learn. We would not be able to stop hobbyist to engage in impulsive buying disorder nor could we stop them from killing those LS but we can do is to educated them but whether they want to learn or not that is beyond our means. AT please at all times please becareful with the words you used... some of the words might be very hurting. I am quite disturbed by the way you say that reefkeeping is not for those whom are uneducated (hopefully you mean those who didn't do research on this hobby) and budget constraint because I have come across hobbyist whom have keep this hobby successfully without spending a lot of money on it and some of them are not highly educated. Mean no harm just my 2 cts thoughts.... cheers
  21. hi Ian.. just my 2 cts thots.. just wondering have u chk out the price for the full mold acrylic tank? cos it will be quite costly.. but i do see the point why u didn't use glass tank... u have to drill a lots of hole on the tank and if it is made of glass.. it tends to weaken the strength of the glass... well.. could u be kind enough to invite me to take a look of yr completed tank. Would love to see the complete product. Thks
