Sorry as weekends usually taken up by family so I would have mainly 6pm to 11pm on "selected" weekdays. Hi, I wanna create a small clip on LED Actinic Blue for my small tank (tank size : 11 inch x 9 inch). Anyone has faulty clip on LEDs that they want to dispose can sell it to me ? All I need is something with a clip-on base (or screw on to tank side), flexible arm and flat head. I will most likely take out all the bulbs etc and paste like 5cm or the LED strip. I used a 15cm LED strip and both my maroon clown and royal dottyback started hiding as I realise the 440nm strip I got was too "blue". When my room was dark, I can get blinded by the blue light (eyes got so tuned to the blue).

It is in my office....over weekends quite warm....when I come in on Monday morning 9am...water temp is 22 to 23 degrees...as I got a dymax electric thermometer. Using Gex HOF and Dymax skimmer. inside is one weird dark orange clown (he like to lie sideways on sandbed or on the GEX HOF intake) and a royal dottyback.

Hi, I need advise with my Nano skimmer...... I am using a Dymax Nano skimmer (about 12" tall) with a Dymax AP 700. Relatively simple device that uses wooden air stone and air pump then bubbles collected at top. But I just realised that when I started using approx 40 days ago, the air pump setting was at 50%.....any higher and the air bubbles overflow. I have been adjusting the air pump almost weekly (due to itchy fingers) as recommended was to have bubbles approx 2" below cup. Now I realised that I have already adjusted such that the air pump is already 100% and bubbles not really getting off. 1. I have used local brands like Big Boy, Attaman and now Dymax (all costing approx $10-$15). Could somebody advise me a more reliable air pump made for wooden air stones ? 2. And are there wooden air stones that lasts longer than 4 mths (each $8).....Mine will turn soft and big holes will appear.

Hi, I have a 11" x 9" tank in the office, water temp between 18 and 23 degrees (hot during weekends as AC not on). I have a dark brown clown and a bi-color royal dotty back and 2 snails (black with yellow stripes). Filtration using a Gex HOF and Dymax "mini" skimmer. Feeding only Ocean Nutrition flakes. They do not seem to eat anything "non-floating". Qn 1 : I really do not know how a BM NAC 3.5 works (there are a few bro here selling) - I am out of space in tank, I do have space on my table if the skimmer sucks water out, skims then pump back in (like external filter) Qn 2 : Green algae on tank Prob :green algae near bottom and corner of tank, light green, I brush away with toothbrush Prob : few think dark green 1mm to 3mm spots appearing, cannot brush or scrape off with pincers (unless I scratch tank) - Any tankmates that can help ? - I am thinking of lettuce slugs....for algae control and tank mate. Qn 3 : Small floating tanks (breeding tanks etc) for brine shrimps - Will brine shrimps survive ? $1 will feed my fish for a week....but need to keep the Brine shrimp somewhere

Bro see the other posts... I did help a friend DIY a 4 footer but his is a planted tank at 4 (L) x 2 (H) x2.5 (W). Go to Sim Lim Tower B1 to see the strips for yourself....I think the websites are either not very updated or can be very confusing. Bro....not that do not have budget...nor did I ever mention anything about budget, but sometimes got to be a little realistic for nano set-up but also weighing the cost of dead fishes and cruelty if we have the means but not the sense of responsibility. I hope to seek your kind understanding as I am trying to get the value for money yet easy to use or idiot-proof device.

I have read that I might need to cultivate phytoplankton for feeding tube worms.... Do tubeworms eat stuff like frozes mysis shrimps ? May I know what do you feed your tubeworms or corals ? And is Phytoplankton substitutes for feeding tubeworms available in "frozen" or dried or bottled available in SG ?

Thanks for the advise.... For the meantime, due to budget constrains, I got 1 no brand hydrometer (1.022), 1 sera hydrometer (1.020) and a red sea swing arm hydrometer (1.025). I noticed that all 3 gave different readings but were quite close, the numbers from my current tank water in as above so I just average out. Is there a "digital meter" or "idiot-proof" meter which an idiot like me can use ? BTW, so far in my tank got LR and a few tube worms....

sorry for the late reply. I only saw 1 refractometer at aquamarine... But I am looking for something to hang inside the nano tank. For a small tank....10% WC is only like 1L or so hard to use a swing arm...also most swing arms too large to fit in small tank... I am looking for either short hydrometer or any digital ones that have a probe inside the tank (some thing like some of those digital tank thermometers)

I would propose an over flow box instead of using the siphon method. issues would be matching the up flow rate to the down flow rate. For me I only got a 2ft Acrylic tank which I managed to drill 3 holes and use rubber pipes to over flow to my sump tank. But please drill when tank is dry w/o live stock. And please use 2 to 3 mm pilot holes then extend to 5mm then 8mm, each hole shd be some distance apart. I did a 8mm hole and my 1st tank cracked on the 2nd hole drilling which was too close and too big...

Hi, I would like some advise as I am looking for a short hydrometer for my nano-tank which is only about 6 inches deep (11 inch (L) x 7 inch (H) x 6 inch (W) tank). I am currently using 2 types of floating hydrometers in my main tank (8 inch "unbranded" and 6 inch Sera).
