I am assuming that my chaeto is extremely hardworking by their growth.

by right in the sea, the nutrients are very low, however at night the sea is full of food for the corals. in our closed system tank, as long as you have ample food for the corals, it is good to have ULNS (Ultra low nutrients system). if you strip the water too clean and not providing food for your corals, your sps will likely to suffer. Thus, you have to make a balance, water too clean and lacking in food for sps, not good. water not clean with high nutrients, sps will not be happy too.

your return pump will do the job well, you may have more pods in your DT than you can imagine, some can be very small, most are hiding in rocks in the day time. do you have a dragonet that requires pods for feeding? if so, monitor its health and body size for a while. if it is fat and healthy, chances are it has more than enough pods for consumption.

would be prudent to retest the water with another test kit or get someone else to test your water. However, I felt that your sps are diminishing the dKh levels, you can try to take the daily intake amounts by making notes and data. Thereafter, once you see a trend, you would be able to dose daily or a few days to stabilize the dKH.
