  1. stumble on this link, a good summary of coral care. http://successfulreefkeeping.com/learn/what-your-coral-needs/
  2. the key is to screw it slightly tight, the screws acts as an friction stopper and please use a test pen to screw them, not those big screw drivers
  3. as i have mentioned, no ich, no white spots, no sights of parasites. however, i did noticed its poo was kinda stuck for the whole day.
  4. Hi, does anyone has experience with their naso tang becoming restless and not swimming around? I do notice it was breathing heavily and laying on rocks/sandbed. usually it is patrolling the whole tank. no physical damage to body nor parasites. everyone else in tank is acting normally.
  5. as i said before, you should have ask iwarna to deliver the DI water to you......
  6. for faster cycling, try dosing bacteria, mine cycled in 2 weeks and yes, 8 prawns are a little bit too excessive!!!! If you can, higher water temperature aids in cycling speed too.
  7. LEDs are very intense lightings, however, depending on the optics, throw distances are a problem.
  8. Do take note that both chaeto and ATS will take time to kick in, it does not work immediately. Thus to lower your nutrients now is WC. I would suggest 10-20% every alternate day to bring down the levels fast. continue for 4 - 5 times WC, you would see levels dropping. However I cannot stress enough that during this time, it is not wise to add anymore LS, else you will have endless fighting with the nutrients.
  9. try using this trick. Get a balloon stick and a syringe. connect the hollow stick to syringe, suck in mysis from tip of stick and inject very near anemone, it works for me, never messy.
  10. then in this case, its okay. When your NO2 goes to zero, NO3 when spike, you need to conduct WC to reduce it. At this moment, your cycling has more or less completed. Most fishes can take slightly higher NO3 levels, most corals LPS can tolerate also. SPS for sure no. Adopt moderate feeding to control NO3 and PO4, do not introduce more LS at this point till both NO3 n PO4 levels are reduced and controlled. Try to add LS the most one per week and monitor the same. Have fun
  11. why do you have LS in your tank when you are cycling?
  12. What the colours looked like under 0% w and 19% B
  13. Well I hope 3 months down the road the colours r stronger
  14. I am running 2 x razors in my 5' mixed reef, then again I do not have a lot of sps. Also some 'blind spots' at corners but all is well since I have nothing at the corners anyway.
  15. T5, but then again, one had normal T5s 2 W, one Blue, wasnt enough
  16. Taken two months ago, i cannot find the 1st pic of acro when i got it Under maxspect razor 160w Experience very fast growth, colours not so fast. See BN 3months ago
  17. I am using LEDs for 3 months now, Acro when bought, total brown, now luminous green. BN also pinky now.
  18. I have chaeto to give away in Hillview area. Pm if interested
  19. Just let it settle for a couple of days
  20. why didnt you order DI water from Iwarna? now not only u have to wait to make the water, later you need to cycle for another month......
  21. no problem at all, however I always have the habit of making RO/DI water days before I conduct a WC, how long do you intend to keep the water? If drum is covered and no salt been added, I dun see a problem at all
