  1. Anyone is interested to buy my pratas? With me for almost a year Tri colour selling $260 Green selling $160
  2. IMHO, growing coralline algae is not a problem at all if you keep your CA and MG levels stable. My problem is, rather on the contrary, to much coralline algea growth everywhere. my return pumps, vortechs..... which needed periodic cleaning
  3. just make sure your Ca and Mg levels are okay, coralline algae will bloom...... not necessary to use such chemical resorts.
  4. Rule of Thumb of temperature requirements: 31-32 deg for FOWLR 28-30 deg for fish with LPS 27/28 deg and below for fish with LPS n SPS these are rough guides, however, you need to pay extra attention to the species of Livestock you are going to buy. try to follow as close as possible to their natural habitat conditions, chances of survival are higher
  5. what kind of live stocks and corals do you have in your tank? from there, we can advise more
  6. If u r asking for a solution that involves a canister filter, no. Do consider to add a sump to your setup, many benefits w a sump. If u can't or dun want to drill holes in your main tank, there r solutions to introduce a overflown system
  7. if watery, means not skimming well, raise the skimmer a little and let it sit in 1" less water
  8. a canister filtre system is not very good for SW setup, it will be a problem than a solution, soon the canister will be a nutrient factory. Do consider alternatives to canister.
  9. Salt mix is a better bet, since it is more consistent in parameters, what's your tank size?
  10. you can consider doing a few water changes every other day to reduce the nutrients fast. Considering the tank is new (with little live stocks).
  11. WC is not only to reduce the nutrients in your tank, depending on what is in your tank, if you have sps, the WC will replenish the elements. if you have FOWLR, then less WC is ok.
  12. Interesting thread, but however my immediate problem is to keep them alive till they hatch, the last batch was wiped out by predators
  13. Hi, does anyone has experiences with chromis spawning in their tank? What are the possibilities of the eggs getting hatched? The 1st batch of eggs were laid a fortnight ago on the glass walls of the overflow. However they didn't survive becos snails, fishes took them for breakfast, lunch n dinner. Now again in two wks' time, new eggs r formed, I must say my chromis are very hardworking and fertile. Anyone can enlighten me on the methods to see the eggs to full term?
  14. i believe you have a typo error, should be Kole Tang
  15. MI is very picky eaters and typically they do not fare well in a closed aquarium setup
  16. or you can always use dead rocks, seed them in tank, after ~1 month, they will be live, however it takes months for it to be fully live
  17. read the labels, as long as there isnt any additives, its okay.
