  1. Regardless which type of tangs you add, there is always fighting, so the size and the incumbent wins. So, it quite difficult to get large size AT and it is more expensive. while the bali tangs you can get different size easily. If the incumbent wins, your loss is very miminal. I encounter this and I have a AT, I have no ways to add it after i qt it. It keeps been attacked by other tangs. I keep puting it in and out of beta box for many times. It eventually died on the injury during the attack. Now I believe in adding the most timid and the most expensive first. So as to minimise loss.
  2. No more title , only SRC members. but can get 5 stars general

  5. Nice yellow belly regal What other fishes do you intend to add? If can, add AT and Rock beauty first.
  6. May be it is good time to plan what fishes to add and the sequence of introduction. This will prevent aggressive among fishes. Always add the most timid fish first and let it settles down before introduce the next fish.

  8. yes, the bigger the tank the more difficult to do a lot of water change. You need to prepare a lot of salt mix water. And the cost is high. Using NSW too much water, have higher risk of having parasites after the water change. I do about 20% biweekly and follow by 20% weekly. That means 20% in 1 1/2 week. At least I rest for a weekend.
  9. What salt water you used? NSW or salt mix?
  10. After running copper level for 5 days, most of the floating parasite are killed. When you added new fish, it also come with new parasites. So back to square one. So you have to extend the period when you add new fish.
  11. You should maintain at 0.3 level and start adding fishes now. By the end of the 3 to 4 weeks, you start reducing the copper level and stop adding fish. Do water change as normal and dose back the copper level after water change.
  12. Both of the liquid one and the frozen one can get it from Iwarna too.
  13. I got it from the NTUC. You can also get other brands from any other supermarkets.
  14. I used to feed my tangs with cabbage last time. A bit troublesome so change to dry seaweed. Now feed my tangs and angels with the super market seaweed. It is about $1.60 per packet. Can feed very long. Cheap and good. Looking for the type of seaweed that is put in our fish soup.
  15. Quite serious. Better isolate from others.
  16. It is common in FOWLR tank. I have loss Regal, blue lip, king, Poma, French and half moon angels, also brown powder tang, black powder tang, ABT within 2 weeks last time. Sometimes, it just outbreaks Your loss should be less than mine. Just hold on and learnt from it. Cheers.. I also thinking of convert to LPS reef tank. I also heard it is more easier.
  17. Will paraguard kills the starfish and shrimps? How is your starfish and shrimps doing?
  18. At least you are safe from electrical shock if it is a true leakage. The fish tank floats just like the birds in the electrical cable..... Did the bird die? But of course, not good in long run. As most of the bros have experiences said it is from the AC Pumps. Best is used a DC pump. You are isolated from the Mains, I also say AC pumps. How old is your pumps? Return pumps, FR pumps, Chiller pumps, skimmer pump, etc? WP10 /40 is a DC pump so not from the WP. But if you are using AC wave maker, then it is possible. After some time, the pump may loss it water proof....
  19. Last resort is to use ground probe. It will solve the low leakage problem. No more shock. For high leakage, it will trip the circuit breaker.
  20. You need to pull out the plug to isolate not just turn off the switch. The neutral is still connected when you switched off the switch, it will leak to any live or earth or your probe, it is a earth connection. So need to pull out all the plugs. And one by one insert back to the sockets and turn on and check.
  21. I think both the learning experience and the outcome and also the expense must fall within monthly budget are important. Yes priorities changes is one of the mostly likely reason for decom.
  22. I know most due to time..... but if the result is good, it motivates to hold on and the family will also support. Sometimes it is the CFO..... not approving the budget.
  23. For me. It is 2 and 6. I try my best to maintain and use the best suitable equipments. The fishes still died and sometime the tank starts to crash, the fishes died for no reason. Disheartened by the loss of what to do and the loss of my favorable fishes. That means effort does not equal outcome. i am still holding on...
  24. In recent months, there are so many bros decom their tanks, both reef and FOWLR tanks. Those bros are experience refers, not new comer. What is the real reasons for the decom? 1. Cost of fish, coral. 2. Fish / coral keep dieing. 3. Weekly water change. 4. High electric bill 5. Breakdown of equipments. 6. Tank crash for no reason. 7. Too busy, no time Can we have a cost / time efficient tank?
