WTG - 2ft cube Tank (Only)
Marine_fanaticz replied to oceanviper's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
hi nasir here...really want your tank! 83833099 can collect it anytime tomorrow. thanks:)) -
Bro, quick question. Looking at your tank seems like there isn't enough flow...but you still able to keep rather successfully. I also have a nano and wanting to remove my wavemaker due to heat issues. anyways what salinity are you keeping your water?
-
Yup the running the dymax iq skimmer.. Pretty much useless leh. Never gotten the dark brown skimmate. Only yellowish coloured water. Anyways yup I know damsel very territorial but this one seems to be getting along well with my clown. I like the blue tinge that it brings to the tank. haha thanks for your input anyways and now figuring out why my pic is sideways?!? Haha

hi guys, newbie here. just wanted to share with you my 34l ocean free tank running on an iOS for about 6 weeks now. LS consisting of one yellowtail damsel and one clownfish which have been in the tank for 2 weeks. realise that my clownfish keeps hovering mid-above level I stead of swming through the rocks... so today, I added a resun2000 wave maker 2000l/h ( abit big I know) into the tank for more flow and my clown seems more active . Afraid the wavemaker might cause some heat issues so I got a dymax cooling fan also. have been doing a 10%wc weekly and top up with life distilled water from NTUC. So far not gg to add any LS untill the tank matures and I come back from my 1week holiday. plan to keep zoas and hopefully an anemone(hopefully). looking to change the wavemaker to a koralia nano or the small tunz model and well as upgrade the led lights. As I'm a newbie, feel free to comment.. your inputs are most appreciated:)))

hi guys... in need of some help. I have a 34l ocean space 3 nano tank currently running on a built in iOS system. Just got a HOB filter for extra water surface agitation as my tank is too small for a wavemaker... So I decided to place active carbon by Kent marine into the small compartment of my hob as I heared it helps to chemically filter the water. I rinsed my carbon first under the tap before placing it into the hob filter compartment. After running it, I then noticed that some of the water running out from the hob into my tank is a bit blackish due to residue from the activated carbon...will this become toxic for my fish?? please advise. I onserved l that my true perc is suddenly stressed darting around the tank. I also just did a weekly 10% water change. help needed thx

Danger of Re Scaping ???
Marine_fanaticz replied to Bulldozer's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
Visit sea life... Currently at ballestoer but moving to 107jln bukit merah by next month.. Rocks are cured, just got them at $6 per kg. I don't see any pest or many sponges on them and their rocks are files with purple coranaline algae. kudos -
Bro you have an ocean free nano2 is 34 litres.... can I check with you what kind of filter media are you using for the back compartment in terms of the order...I have one too... just curious to see what others are using...

To all my fellow newbies like me....though its important to share something with you. Please because full when buying saltwater from certain LFS! today I bought 1 bag of saltwater from an LFS near my house for a dollar. The storekeeper told me that the saltwater is gotten straight from the farm and not used in any tanks. So today when I got home after doing a 10% water change, there's still a lot left In the bag, so I tested the water and guess what? Nitrite wasn't zero!!! Nitrates were 5! I tought water change was to romove nitrates from the system not to add more to it? correct me if I'm wrong I'm still a newbie. I'm not gonna say which LFS it is cos they're doing a business. Just wanted to share this you guys. Is it normal for this? the last time I bought saltwater from irwana and tested: everything is zero all perfect.

Latest update! Came back home from work today my clownfish looks super healthy, no longer staying at the surface...just fed it some frozen brine shrimp.... And did a 10%water change and you guys were right! It was because of the lack of oxygen! I addedorw power to the submersible filter causing more disturbance at the surface and its health improved tremendously. Wouldn't have done it without the help of the regulars at SRC. thx a million. gonna stock lightly and just bought a pro buffer series part A and part B to stabilise my ph.... heared good review about it

Look superb... Probably because you're using an extra canister filter, skimmer and a chiller...I was at first very attracted to this model but the stock hob filter is definitely not sufficient. cheers
