  1. What is the safest and most convenient way to raise KH, best without affecting other parameters like pH?
  2. Might really have to Frag my toadstool as seems getting too big. It’s like the past 2 weeks sudden growth spurt, haha.
  3. Are the “floating matters” always there or occasionally seen? You need to establish if these are being churned up from within the display area itself or are being thrown up from your sump. if Sump, then it’s time to clean the sump and probably the bio media. If from display, can have several reasons. A few of them like, maybe your flow is too strong. To me, 2 wave makers for what I think looks like a 2ft tank is a bit overkill. Or you added something into tank that redirected the flow pattern thus new flow stream is flushing out dead areas. Howeve in general, these should slowly clear up, as your water is being slowly filtered through your filter sponge.
  4. Sorry, no Frags as had bad experience in fragging toadstools though is supposedly easy. I think there are some reefers selling frags recently in Pasar Malam.
  5. Personally, I don’t think corals such as Torch and Duncans are good to be used as Host for Clownfishes. Reason is that the rough actions of the fish (ie. nudging against the coral, strong tail swinging when in the coral) could cause the coral’s soft tissue to be injured by the coral’s own sharp “bones”, finally resulting in death. But if you still want to have them as host, there are several ways that may work, for example: - Remove the fish to QT tank for a few days. Then reintroduce it to DT directly over/into the coral. Better still if you are able to surround the coral with something such that the clown is restricted to only swim near the coral for sometime. - Use a stick to herd the fish to the coral. Keep it swimming around there for as long as you can. The purpose is to make the fish feel insecure, get it used to be near the coral and make it feel that place is a good refuge from the stick. The stick itself should never go near the coral. Good Luck.
  6. Any reefer have a small piece of Pink Birdnest or Pink Millie to let go? For Birdnest would like the fat round tip type and not the pointy tip type. Please do PM me if anyone have to spare, with price n photo. Thanks:)
  7. Still looking. Anyone has small piece to sell/give?
  8. Not exactly correct. Bristle worms can be the “normal” bristle worm and they can be touched. They form part of your cuc and that’s good as long as you are not freaked out knowing there are worms Inside your tank. But if it is the Fireworm species, then yes, they will “burn” you. So to play safe, don’t ever handle any worms with bare hands. If you really want to get rid of them, I found that removing the rock from the water, and slowly dripping some H2O2 and tank water mixture onto the rock could drive them out of hiding. But there’s no guarantee. Some worms are too stubborn to come out. Plus you would lose some beneficial bacteria in the rocks. So try at own risk.
  9. Looking for Frag of either coral. For Birdnest, prefer the fat branch / rounded tip type, not the sharp skinny tip. Please PM me with price and photo. Thanks:)
  10. Anyone has a small Frag of Pink/Purple Millie or Pink Birdnest (fat round tip type), pls PM me. Would like to try if my tank can sustain SPS. Please send photo so I can see the color, tks.
  11. And Toadstools can be very luminous too.
  12. For those that are concerned about wandering Anemones getting juiced by water maker or walking/covering other corals in your tank. Toadstool coral would be the best host, in my opinion. This is the 2nd toadstool my (same) clowns have hosted, after my RBTA and 1st Toadstool were gone. Guess I was lucky my clowns hosted easily on any fleshy corals.
  13. Both rocks of mushroom taken. Sorry to those I did not contact.
  14. Sorry guys, a bit overwhelmed with responses. I’m going in sequence to respond.
  15. Selling 2pcs of rocks, each having 30-40+pcs of beautiful blue mushrooms ‘A’ is a Tonga rock of approx 20cm length. Price $45 ’B’ is LR about 6x9cm size. Price $40 PM if interested. If convenient to my schedule, I can deliver. Else collection at S100059. Note: There’s some feather dusters or something else on the rocks.
  16. Then last Oct, got these 2 Jap Neon Toadstools as well.
  17. Due to salt mix issue, my previous toadstool was badly affected and died. So I got new toadstool, and 1.5 years later…. Btw, my clown is around 4inch long, so can gauge the toadstool size.
  18. Toadstool has been closed for over a day. Noticed something strange today, like it’s releasing something into the water. Toxin? Anyone seen anything like this before? IMG_1614.MOV
  19. Where u placed it, in terms of flow?
  20. I don’t recall ever seeing a single photo in any of your SELL post, past 1-2 months. Photos will make the sale easier. You have problem posting photos?
  21. To me, water changes are for 2 main purpose. Replenish trace elements and export nutrients. If your water parameters are all within range, then technically there is no need to change water. I have heard of many reefers not changing water for months. They monitor their water closely, dose if needed, nutrients are exported sufficiently, thus don’t find no need to change.
  22. Left side will touch the tank wall? If plan to clean wall then need move it away a bit.
  23. If you are referring to DSB, then I believe it is not supposed to be stirred. Or at the most, only the very top layer to be “cleaned”. if you are referring to normal sand bed that’s, say around 1” or so, then they can be regularly stirred/cleaned. But if it has not stirred/cleaned for months, don’t do the whole tank at one cleaning. Do small area first time, then subsequently gradually increase the area during each cleaning. This is just to play safe not to stir up too much shit into the water column. Above just my 2 cents worth because I don’t have DSB.
  24. Does anyone knows which LFS carries Tetra Test Strips?
