These blue/purple colored mushrooms are going wild in my tank. Wondering if to let them be or cleanup the tank or are they worth selling, to earn some operating funds. Anyone can advice on price for this?

Relocating service for aquarium
DottyClown replied to crazerlapd's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
For 1-2 ft tank and no external piping and sump, I think can just move it yourself, with another helping hand. -
Crystal glass tank with solid wood cabinet
DottyClown replied to Rseady's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
What's the dimension of the sump and display area respectively? Can show a top view? -
I recently bought a Berghia Nudibranch to do the job. But it’s only 1 Nudibranch and I don’t think it can handle that density of Aiptasia on 2pcs of rocks. Even if it can, the Aiptasia may propagate faster than what Nudibranch can eat. Thus replacing those I deemed too tough for it.

Anyone has 3-4pcs of LR to let go? Looking for fist sized to open hand sized LR, pest free please. Need LR to replace some rocks which are over run by Aiptasia:( Please PM me, tks.

Refugium in a ISO tank
DottyClown replied to fishbeflippin's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
You mean Internal Overflow Sump? Unless you allocate a big enough sump space for the refugium, else I feel you should just use the sump for your filters, bio-media, skimmer and such, and then have a HOB refugium instead. -
Hi Dylan, Know anybody in Iwarna I can contact to ask about it? If so, can PM me? Tks.

Anyone selling? Or if see in lfs, please let me know. TIA

Anyone letting go?

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but it looks dangerous bro. I fully support bro munlok's advice, take it out immediately. You never know if and when the silicon will give way. There may not be any pre-warning sign if it is going to break loose and the light drops into the water. Too risky. If you wanna DIY while waiting for lfs to open to buy a proper mount, maybe you can get some PVC piping or Aluminum material, to work out something stronger and more secure.

There were a couple of WTS on 2ft IOS tank just before they shutdown Pasar Malam.

Joe Juice and Brown Jelly
DottyClown replied to DottyClown's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
I've used Aiptasia-X the last time I had Aiptasia, couple years ago. Didn't work either. So I got myself a pair of Peppermint and they did their job, cleared my tank of Aiptasias. But the shrimps disappeared after about 6 months. Either was attacked/eaten when molting, or starved as no more Aiptasia….but they were eating pellets I think....Anyway, wanted to avoid any death if possible, thus I tried Joe Juice this time. But seems no choice, have to go back using Peppermint again. -
Joe Juice and Brown Jelly
DottyClown replied to DottyClown's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Sometimes its unavoidable that some lands on nearby coral, just have to be more careful when applying, not to get too much on them. That said, did it solve your Aiptasia problem? Mine didn't. -
After injecting Joe's Juice to kill the Aiptasias in my tank. I was besieged by Brown Jelly on areas where the juice was applied. Anyone has similar experience? Is there a link or just coincidence? Now the jelly is also appearing on places where I did not apply the juice. Worst, now I have both Aiptasia and Brown Jelly.... Need help on how to get rid of Brown Jelly. For Aiptasia, will be using natural means like Peppermint Shrimp or Copperband.

I had this issue twice. Once was from an old pump I used to mix my water/salt. Tingling sensation when I touch the water. The other was a bit of a mystery to me. It was from my LED light. Mystery because no part of the Light was touching the water. Only the Clamp Holder was touching the Tank Glass, not water. Still I felt the electricity when I touch the tank water, or the light. But all livestock was doing ok. I guess you really need to explore every single equipment, regardless if its in contact with the tank/water/glass.

Looks like Majano Anemone. Pest. Can try AiptasiaX or Joe’s Juice.

If there is no chiller, what is the highest room temperature that the tank will experience? Anything above 30 DegC, then would seriously recommend getting a chiller. For a nano, you could get a fan instead of chiller, but beware that the evaporation rate is going to be very high. Before I got a chiller for my 2 ft IOS, it was evaporating more than 1 liter a day by the fan and achieving 26-30 DegC temperature range, depending greatly on the weather, big temp swing. After chiller, maybe 1 liter a week. Without chiller but with fan, I have successfully kept and multiplied zoas, mushrooms, xenias, gsp for long time. Cost wise would depend on coral type and size, but maybe would say range from $5-$20 per frag? But with torch, octo, duncan, I only managed to keep them for 6-12 months before they shows signs of deterioration and eventually die. Suggestion is to have a chiller, for ease of mind and better for the corals health. Hope above helps in your consideration.
