Have to agree, GO price is anyhow shoot one. If u show how keen u r, they wack u high price. Their corals are nice, no doubt. But I don't like they can be too pushy.

Thanks Rudy:)

Hi, anyone know which LFS is currently selling GSP? Those that has long branches, grows densely together and looks more like a patch of grass than small trees? I've been to a few LFS and it seems nobody is selling it, even if they have it.

Thanks Rudy, David, If the pack contains much more pods or Mysis than the fishes can finish in one feed, is it advisable to still pour all in? Would they survive in the tank considering they are not acclimated and thus will likely die shortly, thus fouling the tank. Or would they survive? What's the normal practise? Mine is just a 10G nano tank.

Hi, We have all been taught that when new fishes or corals are to be included into the tank. That we should not allow the water in the transport bag (from LFS) to be poured into the display tank. Main reason is to prevent introducing any possible free floating parasites into your tank. But what about those live Copepods and Mysis Shrimps that are available from the LFS? How do we go about separating the pods/Mysis from the water, without killing them? Its ridiculous to quarantine them right? Appreciate if experienced reefers could give some advise. Thanks.

No need to throw away the stock black sponge. Use it as a support base and lay the filter wool on its top.
-
Did you rinse the ceramic rings before putting into the system? Anyway, if it is some sort of solid specks, then place a filter/wool on the return path to catch these specks. It could take a while before all is clear. Or it could just be micro burbles generated from the pump.

Salinity and other water elements
DottyClown replied to Koonitdo's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
No need to panick. Just change to distilled water in the next WC. I'm not saying that Pure drinking water is no good, but to play safe and, its always better to use distilled or DI/RO water for WC and top-up.- 46 replies

Salinity and other water elements
DottyClown replied to Koonitdo's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Don't think its wise to use the Koi pond water as it could contain a lot of things you do not want to import into the tank. Also, I was thinking, if your tank is near the window, that would mean a lot of sunlight. Any problems with algae bloom so far?- 46 replies

I had a tiny Xenia hitchhiked on a frag I bought. It was only 5mm talk. I cut it off the frag and let it attach itself onto an empty frag. It's grown to 10mm and doubled its polyps. So yes, I say u can cut it. Get as much stem as u can.

Seeking advise on what to feed
DottyClown replied to DottyClown's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Right, will off pumps when feeding. Will try the "syringe and balloon stick" method described in another posting:) -

Yes, doing that. Thanks:) -
Hi, I currently have the following inhabitants in my 1.5ft nano tank. Goniopora (Jewel) Green Plate, short tentacle DragonEye Zoas (Frag) Yuma Mushroom Hammer (branch) Octo (branch) Percula Clown (x 2) Hector Goby (x 1) Blood Shrimp Also planning to include: Blue Neon Goby Springer Damselfish Leather Toadstool (anyone selling? Yellow color and fist size would be nice.) Currently only feeding pellets to my clown and shrimp daily, with occasional pieces of fish meat. All inhabitants are doing well, except the plate is losing its green color, I'm now considering mixing RN Phyto-Feast & Arcti-Pods to feed the corals and Mysis Shrimps for the fishes and shrimp, only once a week. While still continue pellets daily. But am concerned if this will still increase the nutrient level too much. Appreciate any comments or advise if this is a feasible feeding plan. Thanks.

which LPS or softies loves strong light
DottyClown replied to DottyClown's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Hi Evo, I had thought zoas with long tentacle is a good sign? So I'm wrong. -
Hi peeps, Can I have some suggestions on what coral(s) to put on the very top level of my liferocks, which is nearest to the LED light (thus very bright) but with medium-low flow. Initially I placed a Gonia/Jewel, but shifted it somewhere as I feel there's not enough flow there. Thanks

Dunno why, but I just can't get the photo uploaded today.
