  1. Very poisonous thread Feeling so tempted to start a Zoas garden.
  2. Tried Mysis and Brine shrimps?
  3. I see that you have many power points located below your DT. And you have a pump just below the power points. You might want to look into the safety aspects of those placements.
  4. Market prawn and NSW would be my choice to start a cycle.
  5. I have always wondered where the LFS get their NSW. Singapore being an industrial island, and it even has oil refineries on its outer islands, so it's surrounding sea can't be that clean. Also wonder is the NSW collected treated before selling. Anyone can provide some insights?
  6. My worry also. Having a new fish in such a confined area, won't it be stress a lot too?
  7. I don't understand. We either use NSW or Salt Mix. Why add Salt Mix into NSW? Won't that increase the Salinity excessively?
  8. I think BSI gel is good. What I do is, when putting the frag onto the LR, apply a little pressure and I give the frag a little twist. This will help spread the gel at the contact point between frag and LR, giving a firmer hold. Hope that works for you.
  9. Suspecting bobbit worm in my nano tank ate my cleaner shrimp. The shrimp in my tank for almost 2 weeks and doing fine. Then it molted, but found 2 sets of molted shells. Guess one is the old shell and the other is the remains of the shrimp. Tried using bait in bottle to catch it, but it didn't work. Other than removing the LR and freshwater dip it, any other methods to try that don't need to remove LR from tank?
  10. Hi Bro, They are doing fine. The white lumps on the smaller clownfish are all gone. The lump on the larger clown is still there, but it has reduced in size. Both are getting along much better with less "attack" by the larger clown.
  11. Thanks Happyreef. Was doing weekly 20% water change previously. Going to include a 10% WC into the week. Hope they recover soon.
  12. Hi, please help. I noticed a white lump developed on the lower jaw of my clownfish almost a week ago. Since then there is no additional development on this clown. But this clownfish has always been chasing off the smaller clownfish during feeding. Other than that, they get on quite well. Recently, the smaller clown also started developing white lumps on its fin & body. I suspect this was passed to him by the bigger clown during its "attack". The 2 clowns are still swimming and feeding actively. Reading up, I suspect this is Lymphocystitis, or Cotton Wool. But I can't confirm. Can anyone help provide a positive ID, so that I can take the correct measures. Thank you.
  13. Hi, will Hyper Salinity kill the bacteria colony in the LR? I believe I have at least 2 bobbits in my tank, and though no fishes have been lost yet, thought it would be safer to remove them.
  14. Maybe can consider installing a UPS as a back-up power source.
  15. I found 3 of these in my LR too. Couldn't confirm if they were Nassariis or Whelk. Play safe and threw them away.
  16. With NSW, very convenient if you have a car to go get from LFS. But there is this concern (not sure valid or not), about importing whatever parasites that may be in the NSW, if its not purified enough. With Salt Mix, it is more hassle as you need to prepare the mix beforehand. But you are assured that there is no parasites. Bottom line, it is up to individual preference. Sandbed is basically for aesthetic purpose unless you intend to have a deep sandbed. Or if your inhabitants need the sandbed.
  17. Visible problems would be pest irritation. Maybe dip them in Coral Rx, just in case. Invisible problems would be water parameters. I understand the GSP is ok, but then different corals can have different responds to same parameters. Just my 2 cents worth.
  18. Did you check is any pest are bothering it?
  19. Its assuring to read that you are nervous and worried about the lives of the fishes. I think the most responsible thing to do now is to either sell the fishes to fellow reefers fast, or ask a LFS to keep your fishes for a period until your tank is fully cycled. Yes, some fishes may seem to be swimming normal, but they can't talk and you may not notice the stress they may be going thru. But again, some fishes you have chosen are actually not really suitable for a 14G. So do consider letting them go to other reefers.
  20. Wow! Beautiful tank! Not completely up but so nice already. Swee!
  21. Looks like a Bobbit to me. I have 1 or 2 in my tank, but not successful in catching them.
