  1. Small specks of very hard white substance have been sprouting out on the back glass. Only on the back, not on the sides or front glass. Anyone have this same experience? Is it due to too much calcium? I've never test Calcium and have never dose any additives before.
  2. There's nothing wrong with your tank. Such hitch-hikers are common in this hobby. Reefing is always full of surprises, good and bad. How long have you had the tank? Under cycling stage? Would suggest you get rid of the Nudibranches, unless you are very sure they are reef safe. (Though not likely) Bristleworm, you could get rid of it too, although some leave it alone as they are said to help eat detritus. The last short worm thingy, I have no idea what it is.
  3. Hi Dez, I myself never had a diamond nor yellow watchman. But from what I read from other reefers, the Yellow will stay around its cave or burrow and clean around that area, whereas the diamond moves around the tank. Maybe, if the Yellow can't find enough food around its cave, it may venture around searching, and thus clean the other areas, maybe.
  4. The Yellow Watchman Goby does help clean the sand. But there is a possibility that it will only clean around the area where it hides and not the whole tank. For better coverage, a Diamond Watchman Goby may be better.
  5. Chromis reserved. Pending collection tonight.
  6. Due to new addition, my nano tank getting crowded. So giving away 4nos of Chromis. Best if can collect tonight. Location near Bukit Merah. PM me with your contact and for my address.
  7. Supposedly eats algae and detritus. But at this small size, I think a considerable large number of them will be needed to really clean a tank. But some also says it eats corals. Not sure how true that is. Maybe it is also good as food for Harlequin shrimps?
  8. Some consider a pest. Can multiply so fast, till your whole tank glass dotted with them and spoils the view.
  9. Looking for both these corals. Please PM me if any reefers letting go. Tks.
  10. Hi, I am not a pro, but just giving some comments. - What is the volume of the tank? Water turnover should be at least 10x while some even go up to 20x. You might want to consider a stronger powerhead, unless you intend to get a wavemaker in the future. - You mentioned Coral pieces. It is not advisable to have any corals (or fish) in tank until cycle stage is over. So if you do have coral in, try to see if anyone can help host them first until your tank finish cycling - You probably would need to get a Chiller or a Fan, to help keep water temperature down. Unless the tank is in a room that is always air-conditioned. - Did you remember to use something (like market prawn) to kick start the cycle stage? Hope this helps. Happy Reefing

  13. Ya, the red bush algae does not spread. Grows only at that spot n getting bigger. So going to leave it alone. The color n shape quite interesting too. But turf algae already removed.
  14. It won't multiply in quantity? Just will grow in size?
  15. I think these are red bubble algae, and its growing on the foot of my effla coral. Are they considered "bad" algae and need to be removed? Its hard to remove the whole LR and so I may have to pluck it while in water. Worried if it will release spores/seeds when plucked underwater. Anyone can advise on this algae?
  16. It has already been over a month. Plus all other fishes in tank are all swimming strong n healthy. So I believe velvet is gone.
  17. My 1" clownfish recently died due to velvet. Leaving its 2" partner all alone. I assume this bigger sizes clownfish is a female. So am now looking for a male to partner it. Any candidate?
  18. If you know which hole or which part of the LR it is in, you could try flowing fresh water into that hole or around that area for maybe 10-30sec. Might be able to flush it out or make it appear from another hole, then use tweezer to remove it. Depends on luck. But if its able to move safely away from that soaked area, it won't come out, then you will have to submerge the whole LR in freshwater. Yes, it will likely kill your LR. One other more unconventional way you could try. Instead of using freshwater, use a mixture of Tank Water with Hydrogen Peroxide(H2O2). 50% water 50% H2O2. Some say this will still kill Coraline Algae and the good bacteria in the LR, but some says it is safe. I dunno which party is right, but that's what I myself is using to clear nuisance algae or flush bristle worms out now. Do note that if you do opt to use this mixture, after treatment it is best to soak the LR in Tank Water for a while to dilute before putting back into your tank. As some invertabrates are less tolerant to it. Above just for consideration. Decide for yourself and apply at own risk ok.
  19. Definitely a Bobbit. I had one in my tank previously. Could not catch or trap it. Finally took out the LR and flushed it out with fresh water. Trust me, you would have better peace of mind, once it's out of your tank.
