  1. Hi, anyone in the West or South, have some Chaeto to spare? Tks.
  2. Tks all. So far it's all positive feedback. Maybe I will try RBTA for my next coral.
  3. Tks bro, as I'm not running a chiller, only fan, so temp could go up to 29 on hot days. Wonder if RBTA could take it.
  4. Bro, have pic of the other Xenia?
  5. Would like to find out if any reefers have been successful in keeping RBTA in 27-29 Deg C water temperature? Please do share your experiences. Thanks.
  6. Bro, don't panic yet. I'm no Nudi expert, so I may be wrong. From what I read, Nudis usually have specific diet and may only go for 1 type of food. Like only sponge, zoas, SPS, algae or others. So first of all is to find out what Nudis you have, while you continue to manually remove what you can. Once you establish what type they are, then take more widespread corrective actions, if needed. Hey, for all you know, maybe you have the Lettuce Nudi which are algae eaters.
  7. Dez, sadly most nudibranch are not reef safe. A lot of them will eat corals. If you can get a good clear picture of the nudibranch, post it here and see if any expert can help identify the type. But if you do spot them munching on your coral, you should immediately remove all of them.
  8. Just to share my experience on pairing my clownfishes. I got a new 1" clown to pair with my 2+" clown which has been in my tank for over 1.5 years. I put the new clown into an isolation box inside the DT, but was released into DT after a couple of hours. Both fishes seemed to get along quite well, swimming together. Woke up the next morning to find the new clown crouching in a corner, with its fins and tail badly damaged. Apparently the old clown attacked the new clown sometime over the night or maybe the early morning. My guess was the old clown got frustrated with the new clown over sleeping arrangements, haha. I put the new clown back into isolation so that the old clown won't harass it anymore and to let the new clown recover a bit. 1 week later, I put the old clown into isolation and released the new clown into tank. Another week later, I released the old clown into the DT. It been over a month now and both have been getting on very well.
  9. Not able to see your pics
  10. I just gave it moderate flow and light. That's all, no special care. In fact, my clumsy clown recently made a slight tear on a small branch, so I cut the branch off and "placed" it on a frag plug. It recovered after a few days and is attaching itself to the plug. So to me, I would say it is a very easy coral.
  11. Hi bros, I bought the frag from a fellow reefer.
  12. Just wanted to share my simple happiness Its now exactly 6 months, and this Purple Effl have grown from a 3cm frag to 14-15cm tall. Can't wait for it grow even bigger, to host my clownfish comfortably.
  13. There can be many reasons why new fishes die while old fishes stay alive. Some could be : i) New fishes not acclimatised properly. ii) Bioload too high with new fishes added, old fishes managed to survive as they are already hardy to the tank conditions but new fishes too stressed by it. iii) There is a bully in the tank stressing the fishes. iv) There is a predator in the tank. Just my 2cents worth, to think about. Btw, what is your tank size and inhabitants?
  14. I'm using Distilled Water too. That's what the lfs recommended too.
  15. Old is true Perc, new is false Perc.
  16. But last night was still ok. Not aggressive at all, and swimming side by side sometimes. Was only when I woke up morning to find the aggression.
  17. How long should I keep the old clown in beta box?
  18. Oh...then I messed up. Hope the noob recover, then try again.

  20. Bought a new 1" clown to keep my 2.5" clown company. The old clown seems happy when see new in isolation box. When new released last night, they immediately got together and swimming together happily side by side. Very friendly interaction. Thought the old clown accepted the new. Woke up morning to find new in a corner, fins injured. Seems like the old clown attacked it over the night or earlier morning. Sigh. Put new back into isolation box to recover. Now worried if new can survive the trauma.
  21. Interesting. If u remove the eggs, either to throw or hatch if separate container, remember to rinse the GSP thoroughly with tank water.
  22. Thanks all, googled it and glad nothing to worry about.
