  1. Hi Martin, I assume your tank has already finished its cycling? How old is the tank? What is your Phosphate and Nitrate readings? What inhabitants do you have in your tank and what is your feeding regime? What CUC do you have? What type of filtration system do you have?
  2. So the wp10 must be used with the controller. It cannot be used alone by itself, it must have the controller connected, right? Because I don't need a controller, just need to on/off the Powerhead. In that case, just buy a cheap normal Powerhead plus a timer will do.
  3. Meaning, power the Powerhead with a Timer, without using the Controller? Can the Powerhead be used without the Controller? Or isit the Controller be set to always ON, so every time when Timer turns on, Powerhead will turn on. Sorry, never used a wavemaker before, so dunno how they connect.
  4. Appreciate if anyone using Jebao wp10 or rw4 can advise, is it possible to set the wavemaker to be running only 5-10 mins every hour? Example, OFF@‌1.00pm-1.50pm, ON@‌1.50pm-2.00pm, OFF@2.00pm-2.50pm, ON@2.50-3.00pm,....etc. I have enough flow in my tank, but just want to direct flow on a small corner once in a while.
  5. Hi Martin, Yes, Brine Shrimps are also called Sea Monkeys. They are those pink/orange tiny shrimps you can sometimes find packed in plastic bags sold at some LFS. Good for marine fishes? Well they are a source of food for the marine fishes, though not as nutritious as Mysis.
  6. Hi, anyone can spare a few pieces of small (around fist size) dry/dead rocks? Preferable in West Singapore. Re-scaped my tank a bit and found need for more rocks. Please PM me if any to spare. Thanks.
  7. Agree. A bit of algae is always good, as it provides food for the CUC and makes the tank look more natural.
  8. I've not had any Seahare or Urchin before. But if they are so good in eating algae as many have said, than I would say that they are only suitable for big tanks. Definitely not for Nano tanks, as they will starve very soon. Pls do not purchase, "use and throw" as they are living things too. Honestly, I do not see a distinct difference before and after I added my Algae Blenny. However, my Blenny's stomach has grown very fat (like pregnant, haha), so I guess it must have been working/eating on the algae in my tank. Just my 2 cents worth of comments, for your consideration.
  9. I think Algae Blenny frequently found in CF, AM, Irwana and Sealife. Size usually around 2", though occasionally you may find a 1.5" specimen. Personally have not seen any smaller than 1" specimen in any LFS.
  10. Hi, any reefers have Pocci frag to let go, please PM me price, pic and location. TQVM.
  11. Martin, try the below measures. 1) siphon the sandbed free of algae. 2) aim your wave make lower to increase flow at sandbed. But don't creat sandstorm. 3) reduce lighting hours, say maybe to 8 hrs total (white+blue). If you have no corals, maybe even less hours. 4) continue dosing bacteria. 5) 10-20% water change twice a week. Do this for 2 weeks and see how. Above is just my opinion.
  12. No, I do not think over dosing bacteria will cause algae bloom. Your algae bloom could be due to several reasons. One very likely reason is too long lighting hours. What is your timer setting now for the light?
  13. I've never dosed bacteria nor considered dosing, so I hope my reply below is correct. To avoid explaining the whole nitrogen cycle process, let's just say that the dosed bacteria helps to convert nitrate to nitrogen gas. Therefore there is insufficient nitrate left in the tank for algae to grow upon, and thus no algae bloom. However with that said, if your tank condition is producing too much nitrate for the dosed bacteria to convert fast enough, then the algae would still have a chance to bloom. Hope that's right. Senior reefers please do correct if I'm wrong.
  14. Looks like you have cyano too. Siphon them out. You can always add in more sand. And do watch your light hours.
  15. Caution. If you really going to add lion fish, please be careful, not just on the type of other fishes you put in tank may become fish food. But also take care when u place your hand inside tank when rescaping or moving corals around, not to be stung by it. And watch out for any kids that may put their hands into the tank. Don't forget lion fish is venomous.
  16. Thanks for the info SubzeroLT. I'll monitor if mine behave the same.
  17. I feed 2-3 times a week, with a small piece of fish meat. Can answer the 2nd question yet, cause just had it not long and did not really monitor the time.
  18. I had these too, during the early stage of my previous tank. But it was not as bad as yours look. Was told by a reefer it is Dinoflagellates. Correct or not, I do not know. I was siphoning it out every water change, till one day it just stopped appearing and then not seen again.
  19. Here's another pic taken couple days before the first pic, when it not fully stretched. It's feet is actually attached to underside of a LR. It reaches out and bloom vertically
  20. Tks for the feedback and advice:) Really love the RBTA, thinking to get one more, haha
  21. When I bought this RBTA 1 week ago, it's bubble was all close to each other, and it was only about 1" in diameter. Now it expanded till its bubble tentacles so far apart and open to 2.5" diameter. Is this normal?
  22. Hi Planted, I think is indeed Apple Candy Pink. I recently saw a thread where a reefer sold these under same name.
  23. You mean 15 hours full blast white light? And 9 hours Blue? To me I really feel is way too long. If this is the case, you should also be getting a lot of algae growth on your LR, not just sandbed. Have you also checked your phosphate and nitrate level?
