  1. Any kind reefer reading, can spare a piece of rock urgently? Like within the 1-2 hour? Medium sized, live/dead. Preferably south Singapore. Thanks.
  2. Looking to buy P.Shrimp(s) to eat Aiptasias in tank that is getting out of control. Some grown as large as thumb size. Anyone has proven aiptasia killer shrimps to let go, please contact me. Thanks.
  3. Skimz PUR Reef Salt.

I can let go a new(unopen) 20kg tub at $50 and deal at West side.

    Let me know if interested.

  4. 20kg New unopened tub @ $50 Self-collect at Telok Blangah Heights.
  5. There was a time when Maxpect Razor was all the craze. What happen to it? Is it no longer in production? Or was it really not as good as many claimed? Just curious.
  6. Bro, for what size tank are you using these pumps?
  7. Do you still need to use addictive like Seachem Prime to remove chlorine & chloramine after the DI stage?
  8. Soaking LR in diluted concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide for 3-5 mins is enough to kill algae and usually enough to force worms & crabs out. Soaking for 2 days.....that's a bit extreme.
  9. Hydrogen Peroxide can be purchased from Guardian Pharmacy, in 100ml or 500ml bottles. Depending on stock.
  10. I started off this hobby with a 2.5G pico with a HOB filter. Unless I interpreted wrongly, for your intended shallow pico tank, the only nutrient export is going to be 100% weekly WC. Is that right? Actually, I feel 100% WC is too drastic. Your LS is being subjected to a stressful condition every week because of 100% WC. Instead of a wavemaker (which in any case would likely cause a storm in a pico), I would suggest to install a small HOB Filter instead. This way, you get some filtration for the water, plus the returning water will provide good water movement. And weekly 20%-40% WC should be sufficient to keep the tank in good condition, unless you tend to overfeed your LS.
  11. Farm sea water, we usually refer to NSW ( Natural Salt Water). It is debatable whether NSW or SaltMix is better. In my opinion, each has its own pros and cons.
  12. If I use Seachem Prime with Tap water to start a new tank, but subsequently use distiller water for water changes, I think it should be quite safe right?
  13. I'm keeping marine tank, and using Distilled water to mix with the salt. But its troublesome having to keep buying (& throwing) the bottles, and not very environmentally friendly. So thinking to switch to Tap Water with Seachem Prime, if it is really safe and accepted by hobbyist.
  14. I'm using Skimz Pur Reef. You can use a Refractometer to measure the Salinity. How much water to how much salt, that you would have to find out yourself. For a fixed known volume of water, measure the amount of salt, either by weighing scale or what most use is just a scoop/cup. Gradually add in the salt to water, mix fully and use the Refractometer to check the salinity. Continue the process until desired Salinity level is reached. Remember the amount of water and amount of salt, so that next time it will be faster and less guess work.
  15. Is anyone using SeaChem Prime, either to start a new tank or during routine water changes? Care to share comments and reviews?
  16. Usually the Salt will come with suggestion on how long to mix before adding to tank. For mine it says may be added immediately once all dissolved, but also recommends to wait at least 12hrs to allow some parameters to stabilize. I used to do over 12 hours, but nowadays I just add in after a few hours.
  17. Should be either diatoms or dinoflagellates. Your tank is still new or cycling? Just siphon them out during water change(s). They should all go away with time, once your water paramenters are good.
  18. For a 6 gallon tank, your return pump could be sufficient to provide the necessary water movement for basic corals. You might not even need a wavemaker. Anyway, 2000l/h is way too strong for a 6 gallon tank.
  19. Just curious. I know you use the valve on the individual line to control the flow through each equipment. But how do you know how much flow is in each line? For the FRs, you probably can judge from the media's movement. But how do you know the flow through the Chiller and UV Filter meets the required min/max flow of the equipment? Hope to learn something here.
  20. Just curious to find out the name of the Paly/Zoas in the picture. Can anyone provide an ID. Thanks. This came as a small single 2-3mm polyp, hitchhike on a frag of Cloves I purchased. Now its grown big and multiplying.
