You should cycle with the liverocks, just cycling water without any liverocks or biomedia is useless as there is no place to house and grow the necessary bacteria. Did you add a market prawn or similar, to kickstart the cycling? Typical cycling time is 6-8 weeks, but I think can be cut short if you dose bacteria culture. If you periodically test the water during cycling, for nitrite, nitrate, ammonia and such, you will have a better picture of what stage your cycling is at, and if it is ready to add live stock. But if you not going to test the water, then it would be safer to wait out the full 8 weeks before adding any CUC/livestock.

Looks like Aiptasia. It's a pest and can spread like wild fire if handled wrong.

This time round, do cycle the tank properly before adding any livestock and do not add so many livestock all at once. Else it could crash again. Do read up a bit while tank is cycling, don't rush again this time.

Don't be offended bro, but you have gone wrong in so many cases, that I do not know how to begin. Just filling a tank with seawater and live rocks, doesn't mean the tank is automatically habitable to fishes and other livestocks. Just to name a few wrongs. You did not cycle the tank, nor test the water parameters. So for all you know, there are die-offs from the live rocks that is fouling the water. You added so many livestocks all at once. Whatever beneficial bacteria that's in your tank, cannot handle this sudden drastic increase of bio load.. So your livestocks is practically swimming in their own shit&pee, and dying due to stress or maybe even of ammonia poisoning. i would seriously advise you to quickly send the livestocks to a mature tank immediately, either a friend's or ask the lfs to hold for you, while you get the tank condition right, before they all die. Seriously, though they are just fishes, but they are a life too. Please save them before it's too late. Then do read up more on reeling first, to find out what you should have done. There are many articles in this forum that will help you start up correctly.

Let me know ya? I also curious, haha.

Actually 2L is only 3-4% of your 60L volume. So even if the bottled water became saltwater also no big deal lah. Just let it run dry before you top-up the bottle.
-
But with this ATO setup, the fresh water in the bottle will become salt water due to diffusion, right?
-
2L in almost 4 days, so good, that's very slow evaporation. You not using fan right? Chiller?

I feel the issue is more towards matching the bioload, about establishing the correct balance between bacteria and livestocks. The idea of using a "matured" canister, live rocks and live sand will shorten the cycling process. If the amount of bacteria is sufficient to handle the amount of livestock added, everything should be ok. Question is you don't know how much bacteria you have and thus if you have added too much livestock all at once. But then you mention the canister is on a "rent" basis. Which means when the canister is returned, you lose a significant amount of bacteria. So your tank will go through a cycle in order to generate sufficient bacteria to replenish those lost from the removal of the canister. Above just my noob thoughts.

Which 4 stage DI is that?

Are these Flaming Sun and Fire & Ice zoas?

Anyone can ID? -
I've dealt with Norman a couple of times, and he is a very nice guy. So it makes me kinda angry to hear that he giving FOC small tank and people still have the nerve to ask for delivery?! Ilovereeffish, please do look at the way you conduct yourself in this forum. It would seem that you have irked quite a number of people already.

Dragon Eyes are those orange center with green tentacles? I need ID for the other 2 types of zoas, with red tentacles. -
Does Iwarna carry stock on shelf, or must order in advance?

Yea, the position considered cool location and fan is 24/7 on. If not, no way to get as low as 25. Unless my thermometer is wrong haha. Bad thing with fan is, my evaporation is about 1.5l per day. Can't remember the tubing size, maybe 3/8" or 1/2", not sure. Pump size be careful not to over size. Need to see how fast your overflow allows water to flow out of your DT. If pump too strong compared to overflow rate, you will push up the water level in DT, or worst cause water to overflow from the tank. But I guess you could adjust the min-max of your pump. Oh, you probably already considered liao, but just in case, do make sure your return chamber have enough space for whatever pump you getting. Space is a premium estate in nano tank. So need plan carefully as not much space for error.

Yes, only have Radioactive BN and Purple Digi. But the Digi color less purple now than when first got it. I not using chiller nor dosing, so only try easy SPS for fun. Tank temperature range from 25 on rainy days to 29 on super hot days. Pump is Sicce Syncra 1.5 with 357 GPM. No tank thread. Mine simple tank only.

WTS fish, coral & rock after rescaping

OMG, TS already offered such a super cheap price and you still ask for "best price"?? -
Attached is my nano tank. My tank maker used black tinted glass for the DT/IOS divider, which I didn't like, but since its done...... so I can see the water in my IOS through the DT. You can see that the DT water level is fixed by the overflow in the first chamber (left side),. You can also see the return chamber (on the right side) has a much different water level than the DT. This water level will drop with evaporation, not the DT water level.
-
This is very good sharing. I am also running an IOS tank and using a fan to cool. Attached is my tank design. My design, similar to bro Kenyee, only have an overflow on the top. The return pump (last chamber) will always pump water into the DT and the water can only escape from DT via the top overflow into the IOS 1st chamber. Water loss in DT will be replenished by the return pump. That is why the DT water level will always remain constant and any water loss can only be seen by water level drop in the return pump chamber. Our ATO will also be located at the return pump chamber. For bro Yukok, I believe because you also have an "opening/underflow" that allows water to enter the IOS from below, thus your DT water level will equalize with the water level in your IOS chamber(s). That is why you see DT water level drop due to evaporation. In your case, if you install an ATO, I think it would need to be installed in the 1st or 2nd chamber or the DT itself.
-
Bro Kenyee is right. For an IOS tank, the water level at DT will remain constant. Evaporation of water is only evident at the return pump compartment, where the water level will drop. Just some points to contribute, which maybe you already considered. 1) make sure your nano skimmer can fit into the space in the iOS compartment. 2) what type of light mount you using? If arm/bracket type, Which side glass(es) will the light arm/bracket be mounted on? 3) are you making a "ledge" in the first compartment, to support the filter wool?

10% tap water should not cause much issue with the tank. Unless your tap water quality is really really bad. If want play safe, dose Seachem Prime for Chlorine and run Carbon.

Welcome to the club. For your tank size, I think the Compact600 should provide sufficient flow. If you want more flow, you could consider replacing with a bigger pump (ie. Compact1000) or if you choose to use wavemaker, maybe can consider RW-4 or MP-10. I would seriously advise you to cycle your tank before adding any livestock. IMO, dosing bacteria may help shorten the cycling process, but that doesn't mean it can replace the cycling process completely. Adding any livestock to a tank too early, will only stress them, worst case kill them,....life loss, money loss. Another scenario is if the fish develops ICH, then you will have worry on subsequent additions. Have known reefers to give up the hobby when ICH proves too much to handle. Whatever your decision, Happy Reefing
