Its the cage issue..u can figure out by putting ur hand ard n feel the current..or look at the fin direction..its a fun wavemaker to play ard giving different current flow in the tank..

All water surface with agitation will have gas exchange..thus the larger the surface agitated, the more gas exchange..

Any Reefer upgrading tank thus need bigger wavemaker?

Haha bro ok..different thinking of meaning..no debate here..just sharing.. Protein skimmer is drawing water & air into its chamber then exit via a opening..the gas exchange happen inside the chamber..what I m saying is those air pump with air stone..

Ok la bro..still junior reefing..keep reading & keep learning..I read b4 an article that say pumping air into the water does not mean giving the water oxygen..the air pump into the water is the move the water column & agitate the water surface for gas exchange..end of the day, if ur fishes like to stay at water surface & not active, something is wrong..

Fish only tank can just use tap water la..no problem..

Btw, are these lumps contagious? My take is no cause the rest of my tangs ok..

Haha bro..if the return flow & sump design is good, the sump water surface shd b agitating well thus no need any air pump..

Pictures taken from the internet..my unicorn tang have similar alike lumps too.. Any reefers experienced this b4? Can't find any answer to this.. The lumps seems like sometime obvious sometime not..both side not symmetrical.. He's feeding well n active swimming..breath normally n never scratch against anything.. Thanks for reading

He's 8" bought from ah Beng & its 7 days in sump, a 2ft by 2ft compartment..hand feeding on seaweed..never scratch himself on anything..swim ard actively..together with a juv unicorn 3" & a spotted Mandarin 1.5"..have soaked him in seawater with prazi & cupramine for 50min on day 1.. Hope to get some advice.. Thanks
