  1. The owner of the above picture is very hardworking..he wrote he clean almost everyday.. For FOWLR setup, I believe with strong current will keep it clean..but I can't try it on my next setup as tank too big..maybe if next time my CO allow, I will keep a nano cube coral tank then can try..I love that white clean look..
  2. Bro, notice that ur wavemaker is pointing 45 degree up..is it effective in moving the sand top? Btw, nice fishes u have got..what skimmer u using?..thks
  3. All info of setup: Overflow 50mm durso pipe 2 x return pipe 25mm Overflow compartment 260mm x 150mm
  4. Bro, any reason why bigger harder to keep alive?..tot if from small u keep to big, Shd b stronger as stay in tank for so long..maybe old liao will die issit?..haha..another reason I can think of its not enough space for them to swim enough n happily..so their muscle will stiffen accordingly..this I dunnoe..
  5. Agreed bro..Just worry that they will grow big..like that need to upgrade again but hse no space liao..haha 4" abit small.. I would love to have 6" n above.. Wish my tangs n angels can grow to 1 feet n above..
  6. Haha bro..got ur point.. Skimz Sm251 range from 1000-3000L Deltec Sc2560 range from 2000-2400L Btw, how heavy stock is calculated?..any link to read up on?.. I m someone who prefer lesser big fish to more small fish..
  7. Bro, how many litre capacity of skimmer Shd I b looking at..i calculated my tank n sump capacity is ard 900L.. So I thinking of skimmer for up to 3000L (more than 3 times for my setup)..
  8. Looking at skimz sk251 or sm251 or sm253 or any other brand skimmer that have equivalent capacity..
  9. Bro, will add more if needed to.. Any feedback from u, an experienced FOWLR reefer..
  10. Thanks bro..I like all ur ideas..will see to that..
  11. Ya bro..thinking of 1 so as to reduce wire.. That's why I wanted to use higher return pumps flow to create current too..
  12. Oh ok bro..I will b using bactKing..will buy more n mix together with my live bactKing now..
  13. Bro, tot of using another brand n try it out.. Maybe will use jebao dc12000 if budget constraint..
  14. Biological media as in?.. I m gg to get 2 return pumps.. 1 being jebao DC6000.. Plan to get fluval sp6 which is 12500Lph.. Wonder issit overkill.. Haha
  15. bro, nice idea of using electric toothbrush to clear algae.. this make the job so much easier.. but will the toothbrush last as soak in sea water? Any new update for ur tank? still got kopi session at ur place?.. I m interested to join in..

  17. nice rimless colourful SPS tank..
  18. Hi all, I m gg to upgrade my FOWLR setup.. hope to seek some advise in term of setting up (eg. return pump, current flow, etc).. Basic info: Tank size 5ft by 2.5ft by 2ft 12mm normal glass Sump 4ft I have draw a simple plan layout of my new tank n sump. Question1: What pump should I use for my return pump 1? (I m looking at Fluval SP6) Question2: Do u think 1 x Jebao WP60 at this position is ok? Welcome all feedback from all reefers.. Thanks for reading
  19. For those who r interested to know more about the picture above setup, this is the link: http://www.reefcentr...d.php?t=1920386 I wonder if like this is feasible for FOWLR setup..might go for a try for my new tank.. Will discuss with my tank maker..
  20. Came across this picture in another reef forum.. very nice SPS tank.. salute to the owner.. I would like to ask if there's any reefer here do their tank base like this instead of sand.. understand that the base is a piece of white acrylic.. It look so clean and nice and most importantly no more sandstorm.. cant keep wrasse oso.. Any pros & cons? Thanks a lot..
  21. Apart from all the usual stuffs of starting a new tank.. IMHO..1st most important advise is size of tank.. for FOWLR usually need bigger tank (min 4ft).. unless u intend to keep only 1 angelfish (but even if 1 angelfish, I still find it to be a torture to a big angelfish).. try to go for the maximum tank size u can have (your budget & commitment 1st priority to gauge.. bigger tank = more $$$ & time).. QT all new fish b4 releasing into DT (must be trained to eat especially pellets).. more more more Welcome back to reefing.. hope to see photos coming soon..
  22. bro, like I say I wonder if this work, I have try to rescape a little on the top like making bigger/smaller hole for swim thru and it sought like work for my tangs.. yeah bro.. major scape is risky.. I usually rescape the top few rocks if needed to..
  23. Apart from caging/removing of the resident fish which is ur king, can try re-scaping..wonder if this work.. Putting fish in sump I oso find that its not very good for the fish..unless the sump is big n an environment with current n light n got hiding place etc..the fish then won't b so stress.. Happy reefing..
