  1. Upzz for bro kelvin81..Shd b available again..pls contact him if interested..nice tank..
  2. Thanks bro..I was thinking as I read many where that too bright is not good for the fish, sudden off from bright to darkness might scare the fish, white light dun really bring out the beauty look of the fish.. I sort of beIieve all this is not really true but up to individual perspective now.. happy reefing
  3. Like to know for FOWLR, issit a need for auto dimmable lighting (sunrise sunset effect)?
  4. My sump light is just a normal led light from rainbow aquarium.. 2.1W 36PCS LED.. on 24hr a day.. Guess I m gg to give up on cheato on my new tank setup.. I dun see much algae in my DT nor sump.. now I m monitoring my water by looking my fishes..
  5. nice reef tank.. any update of ur sps, zoas, etc.. more photos of coz..
  6. Thanks bro for the suggestion. Using RODI or distilled water would be too high a cost for FOWLR I feel. I have NP Biopellet running. My cheato dun seem to survive in my sump (find it weird as if nitrate is high, cheato should grow but...). I have tested my tap water for nitrate b4, the result was 25-50 oso. I have tested NSW and pre salt mix water from LFS, the result were 25-50 oso. Maybe my tester is spoilt.
  7. Different fish different tolerance.. Normal most fishes can survive in high nitrate level (of Coz not sky high la..) as compared to corals.. My nitrate is always at 25-50 no matter how much water change (using salt mix with dechlorined tap water)..fishes very happy in my tank..
  8. Very nice scaping in the after..water is gold..happy reefing..
  9. Need some advise on lighting.. to save electricity so looking at led.. any budget set to recommend?..thks alot
  10. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100614153955AAkSOz7 Fishless is ok..it says good oso.. Interesting to know, u r running return pump n skimmer only?..the temp is 30.8..this let u understand ur equipment heat..
  11. Usually its the disturbing of a old sand bed that will cause the problem..i cant say its ich..from another thread, u can read about it saying something like releasing hydrogen sulfide.. Thats why normally after a major rescape will need a major water change like 50% or more to prevent poisoning..
  12. bro, how's ur tank doing now?.. I m gg to shift to a new tank soon..planning to transfer all existing LR, bacteria king, most of existing water + new salt mix water & LS into new tank..no coral only fishes..I m thinking we cycle the tank for LR, bio filtrations, etc to house BB instead for the water..so by transferring old tank to new tank shd b consider cycled..I will share my experience when time come..any experienced reefers can share their knowledge?..Thanks..happy reefing
  13. I think can use a very sharp razor knife or something like that to scrap its base off the glass..but b4 that, try to hold on its shell n slowly turn it left right left right see will it let go its base 1st la..try not to move them unnecessarily..dun think they can damage the glass too..
  14. Bro, shallow tank for FOWLR?..once again, it depend on individual..just to share, looking at fishes from a snorkeler's view n a diver's view..after looking u will understand what I mean.. For width wise, 1ft for FOWLR oso no problem..I have seen 10ft by 1ft by 1.5ft FOWLR tank..big fishes..very nice.. Happy reefing..
  15. Bro, I m not senior..just sharing my thought.. for depth, there won't b a problem in term of space constraint..pro: the shallower the easier the maintenance..view from front n side will not b as good..its more for top view..good for sps, clams keeping..they do look better from top view..lesser cost in setting up too..no need such a strong light n wavemaker..shallow.tank not so much for FOWLR.. overall, it depend on what u want n what's ur budget..read n see more reefer's tank specs n photos to help u paint a better pictures of what u want.. happy reefing..
  16. Bro, u using skimz sk251?.. Hydra 50?..a product by qianhu rite..u place it in sump or?
  17. Some enjoy doing that..like what I hear from some reefers say, their hands won't b dry while at their tanks..haha..enjoying reefing..
