Ya agreed bro..I wouldn't choose n try this system for I dun know how good my LR are..but I believe nature like this should work like in the sea..temperature wise I dun know..31°c is a shocker..wonder will the fish sweat anot..haha

Inside this thread, there's a side track discussion over a best setup I could say for a marine tank..no skimmer no chiller no fan and tank running for 3yr n counting..seldom water change..the fiercest thing I come across is water temp 31°c n fishes n anemones r ok..salute..happy reefing

Hi bro, sound like a good idea to keep water temp low..any pic for sharing? Btw, I oso FOWLR without chiller..just fan to blow across water surface..temp 26-28°c depending on room temp..evaporation was high though..ard 3-4L of tap water daily..

Nice sump n filtration system bro..the best filtration system I see n read about so far is only LR n cheato..no skimmer..no chiller..no fan..wonder how it work till so good..I will definitely go find out more about ATM outbreak system.. Filter sock I find is just a ease of mind filter..the sock will b brown n dirty no matter how clean the tank water is by placing the sock in the last compartment of the sump..being brown n dirty mean the water was filtered n become clean.. Happy reefing..

Go visit LFS..admire their tanks..to return or not is up to u.. Dun reef depend on what reason u given to urself..so curb the urge to restarting by thinking of the reason..its like I quit smoking after 13yr by thinking smoking is a waste of $ n it work..

I get what u mean bro..IMHO, the overflow is mainly not for bigger waste to flow into..waste in DT will b break down instead of flowing into overflow..what the sump filter sock mainly do is to filter the "dirty" (waste break down water) water instead of catching the big waste.. think like this, when u feed, will all the food flow into the overflow like the fish waste u wanted it to be?..I believe ideally is the food will flow around in the DT for fish to eat instead of flowing into the overflow..the excess aka uneaten will break down like the fish waste.."clean" water in sump will mix with "dirty" water in DT so higher flow is better..

Haha bro..I also think so in the beginning..the return n overflow too near like water once return into the tank straight away go back into overflow..like tank water no filter like that.. But after serious thinking n looking at successful tank setups, its not what I think in the beginning..return n overflow on same side is ok..the importance is the flow of water in the tank..there must not b death spot aka stagnant water..bad things like to grow n stay there..strong flow in tank is the key..happy reefing..

What problem u face with both at the same end? I believe at same end, lesser pipe to b used thus stronger flow..all piping hidden oso.. My tank still in progress..target after xmas..

Bro, can't really see ur return pipe outlet..so u change it to left side of ur tank?..I believe a lot of tank maker make the return flow n overflow on the same side and everything is fine..so would like to hear ur experience on this..thks

I dun use any medication..unless I see fish sick then think what to use..
