  1. I think its something that's chemistry..find out ur tank water parameters then see what's lack in..have a pre mix solution for dosing to maintain natural sea water parameters thus keeping ur fish n coral healthy..hope my rough explanation is correct..cheers
  2. ATS is interesting..pls share pics of ur ats setup.. I use refugium instead.. Filter sock is good to use n its a fail safe way for polishing the water..but regular cleaning/changing is required if not will become nitrate factory.. There's a lot of different setup..depend on what u keep n what u want.. cheers
  3. Very nice n detailed setup.. One thing puzzled: the return pipe why so many bends at the top part..tot more bends will reduce the pressure..anyway, nice n neat piping work..cheers
  4. Bro, what's your return pump?..if ur return pump is very strong, u can branch out the flow like having a Y joint..u can have more current in your tank to blow away detruis n algae on sand n rocks..but u can't have random wave like current mimicking the sea ..there r Reefer's tank without wavemaker but their pump are very high end pump, powerful n can control different mode to have waves like in the sea..maybe u can post a video of ur tank n let us see the waves..cheers n happy reefing
  5. Top up tank sharing anyone?..thanks n cheers
  6. Wavemakers sold to both friendly reefers..mod pls help to close thread..thks for reading
  7. Complicated story bro..Xtrader sold out his bulb n get my last bulb for his new frag tank..I just wanna make the forum neater..its ok not to close the thread..end of the day, its no par38 bulb for sale now..cheers
  8. Nice video bro..this app make the video look so pro.. Nice tank.. Awaiting to see ur 8,9ft tank while patronizing ur restaurant..
  9. Hi bro, how's the progress of your big reef tank in a hole? CNY coming soon..huat ar! Pics pics pics..
  10. Bro, any tank specs n intro? I believe with proper water parameter n temperature, your corals shd b able to survive..so what's the problem now?
  11. Sad to hear that..post pics here n seek for help..maybe they can b saved..cheers
  12. Bro, the cabinet height seem short at 24 inch (50cm)..u must look for skimmer ard 40cm height (10cm clearance for skimmer cup removal)..I dun see such short in sump skimmer around.. Good luck.. Can see see look look.. http://www.tunze.com/149.html?&L=1&C=SE&user_tunzeprod_pi1%5Bpredid%5D=-infoxunter028
  13. Those neighborhood hardware shop shd have sell those plastic clip on bulb holder for e27 bulb..I bought mine @ woodlands 888 there for $8.90.. Ikea oso got clip on type..just that the arms of the holder is a bit long..so if space constraint can't use..plus its metal parts will rust easily..
  14. For temperature part, with less equipment running mean lesser heat..have a thermometer to measure the temp..the temp shd b in a ok range with the tank placed in a cool part of your house.. For copper part, I m not familiar too..any experienced Reefer can share?.. IMO if fish not sick, dun use medication as it will stress the fish more.. Still learning how to set up a QT better though..happy reefing
  15. Depend on how heavily stock vs system, the water condition (ie. Water coloration, odor, etc), the fish condition (ie. Swimming or not, eating well or not, etc), coral condition (ie. Coloration, opening up or not, growing or not, etc), overall tank outlook (ie. Cleanliness, full of algae, etc) If the water is good, dun change too much..looking at 10% monthly shd suffice..dosing of chemical to replenish those loss elements is required though especially for coral tank..some uses large water change to replenish those loss elements..there is no right or wrong changing how much water in what period..happy reefing
  16. Pump footprint mean the size of the wavemaker right?..of Coz the smaller the better..but smaller mean less powerful too..plan well..see tank size to gauge is the best..cheers
  17. Understand bro..shd b minimize instead of prevent..so top up tank best is to be covered to minimize evaporation n prevent dust or thing gg into the tank.. For top up tank need to mimic the natural condition of the ocean? I would think of prevent water stagnant n become stale..and prevent mosquito breeding ground too..haha..but I believe with circulation, higher evaporation..as of now, my wavemaker is off, I cover up the tank with a styrofoam board..monitoring..cheers
  18. Just run for 3 mth.. Rest in box for 1 mth now.. Still got 2 mth warranty.. Sure working strong like new.. $60.. B4 CNY 2014 less $5.. Happy reefing
  19. 4ft tank taken.. 3ft tank reserved pending collection on Mon.. Thks for reading..
  20. Sold out..mod pls help to close thread..thks
  21. Nice..I oso have plan to do like this but its 1 tank for FOWLR n the other for corals..but plan strongly discouraged by my Co.. Keep pics coming..envy..
  22. If the livestock in ur tank is happy n growing well, dun need to change so much water..ard 10% will do..water left for 3 days with circulation?..if no, it will b still water n will become stale IMO..tap water can add dechlorinator b4 use..if u really scare of chlorine, leave the water overnight shd suffice..
  23. Really nice workmanship..like to ask where u buy the raw material?pre-cut wood or cut urself?..thanks
  24. Hi all, I would like to seek advise n opinion of fellow reefers here wrt top up tank.. for a tank of 60L, need wavemaker/air pump to circulate the water?..need cover to prevent evaporation? Maybe can share some info of ur ATO tank system here too.. My ATO is gravitational feed by a float switch.. Thanks all.. Happy reefing
