For the salt deposit on the euro bracing is normal due to the agitation of the water surface..the higher the agitation the faster salt deposit will form due to water vapour mist..mine form on all sides of the euro bracing..clean regularly lo..

Bro, not here to start a debate..just sharing my experience, how I wish the temp of the sea about 20-30ft is 25-27°c at the dive sites like tioman, Phuket, Philippines, etc..sad to say global warming..I just went to Koh Lipe n I m surprised by the temp of water there but the marine life was ok..an Australia instructor there told me that he love diving at water temp 28-29°c.. Ok back to reefing, my benchmark temp for fish only is below 30°c..my tank uses a fan (off @ nite, sometime off in the day too as too cold)..evaporation is being taken care by a gravity drip system using a float, so water SG will b constant I believe in strong flow in tank so that fishes will not swim so easily in a confine space like our tank..I learn that wc is very important for fish only tank coz in the sea, water keep changing & moving ard, so wc stimulate that in our tank..wc oso flushes n dilute any parasites (most fishes will have parasite or virus in their body like human, they can live is because their body immune system can contain it..when fish scratch against object mean there's parasite)..Colour vibrant or not depend on a lot of factors..highlight again, I m not an expert & still learning everyday.. cheers

Bro, u using a 1/3 hp chiller now? Btw, if fish only, chiller is not necessary.. unless ur hse is like a oven, very expensive & delicate fishes..haha..cheers

Hi bro..ur scape depend on what u keeping..for more SPS u need to scape lower n with more vertical surface to place frags..for the rest is all run wild..my take is to use bigger size rocks so that lesser rocks will b used n the tank will look more natural..u can go to AM n look with their DTs, both are partition tanks..my FOWLR tank is 4 side view n I have rescape many times..human tend to like new look, things see long liao will get bored..so go simple

Nice setup..like the sump design by AA..like ur tank position too..do plan the current flow in ur tank then position ur return pipe..factor in what wavemaker to use & position too..coz if need to change the return pipe position later will b difficult as the joints r glued..hope to see update & pics coming

Since awhile I update this thread..anyhow dosing of medications caused me dearly with almost total wipeout..have since reset n recycle n restart stocking slowly..tank now is bare bottom, making maintenance easier..happy reefing Monitoring tank while not at home..

Not recommended at all..a lot of work as need to keep changing the bottles & to freeze the bottles again take time thus more effort taken instead..the temperature up down too fast no good for the fishes oso..

New update: some lump disappear but pimple alike grow on elsewhere at the horn area..weird

Oh no, mean he's in ur DT for 2.5 week that u catch him out today coz he's weak & dun eat? if so, high chance up lorry liao..pray for the best..now the best bet is to let him stress free..any medication will kill him faster..

May need more info like issit a new fish from LFS or keep how long?, feeding?, scratching?, still swimming actively?, any other fishes the same too?, etc.. White spot usually is ich..need more symptoms to better diagnose the illness..

4mth still under warranty ma so can replace ..the most suay is 6mth 1day spoilt as the warranty 6mth nia..

Heng Suay..regular cleaning of the wavemaker shd last longer.. One thing to note is that the rubber cap on the magnet (wet side) will have black substance falling out when trying to remove after using for sometime..look like ink like that as diffuse into the tank water..
