  1. What I understand is that cheatos n DSB are for removing nitrate aka NO3..marinepure block is said to b able to remove NO3 n is easier to maintain..Some run biopellet..Some use biosphere..there is still alot of different way n they achieved the same result..every setup are different.. For rock wise, most will suggest to use cured/dry/replica rock so as to avoid any pest..as all rocks will become live rocks when ur tank matured..beneficial bacteria aka BB will grow on the rock surface making them live rocks..so the more surface the more BB.. Cheers n happy reefing
  2. Backup pump shd pump water up to DT instead of back to sump..its called backup pump coz if main pump fail, the DT still got circulation.. By the way, having a small refugium wont b much help..more senior reefers can advise on this..imho i feel that run reactor or having marinepure blocks work better.. For setup, always go for the maximum size u can do..so get a taller height tank will look better but note that maintenance might b a chore.. cheers n happy reefing
  3. Bro ur setup is ideal for reef tank.. Nice..keep pics/videos coming..cheers
  4. Lol bro..like that ur fishes obese?Haha U shd reduce feeding then monitor yea..
  5. Good bro..I m using skimz salt too..the promo 2 free 1 is nice yea..whats ur sg like? (I kept mine 1.016-1.017)..how many time u feed daily?ur fishes can finish eating in how many min?
  6. Bro like that u do spend a lot on salt yea..what salt u using btw? After ur wc a week u notice ur water turn green colour and/or fishes start to behave abnormal?
  7. This scape lasted more than a week without collapsing..
  8. Nice video bro..can really see a lot of diff after wc..u can try wc 40-50% every 3-4 weeks yea (my wc regime ).. I noticed for my tank, the masked bannerfish will stop feeding on pellet if wc not done for like a month..after wc, he is back to normal..so wc really is important for FOWLR yea.. Good luck bro..
  9. Water turn green is weird yea bro..ur skimmer working fine? Ur biomedia enough? U got filter sock or wool? Do notice the flow in ur tank as more rocks will have more die spots n water parameter might b affected.. MI eat pellets shd b ok..no kana poison or stress by other fishes shd live long.. Fishes hiding is weird too n its been months..pray yea..good luck bro
  10. Thanks bro..I m overseas right now..shd b gone when i m back SG..haha..
  11. Bro, nice addition of the trio MI and some other fishes..u do add a lot more fishes recently yea.. ..the fake corals really add more look to ur tank..swee Btw, i din see ur french angel in the latest video..pardon me for saying most of ur angels not that active so do monitor them closely n change water to make good the water parameter if possible..ur new half moon angel if i named him correctly always hang ard at the overflow area so is he alrite till now? Good luck bro..
  12. Fishes getting bigger..keep swiping down rocks n so need to rescape time n time again..hope this scape will last..
  13. A question wrt hardy fishes..Why fishes that deem to be hardy cant survive in a tank whereas fishes that deem to be "difficult to care" are ok in the same tank? All I can say its life is luck n fate.. cheers n happy reefing
  14. Very interesting to see that ur gyre WM is placed so low..wont create sand storm?hmm cheers
  15. Wow nice..another tangs lover..may I ask how big is ur tank n how many tangs u have? U must have a very stable bio system to handle the massive fish load..tangs poo alot yea..salute
  16. I agreed no sand is the best..BB easier to maintain..Imho, FOWLR look ok without sand as Many fishes will B swimming ard n thru the rocks n caves that wont make u look at the bottom..haha..Anyway look is to each its own..no sand no sand storm oso..can have strong current..big fishes like..heez
  17. Rescape my left side as almost all toppled..biggest suspect is my sohal..hope this scape will stand tall for long..haha
  18. Interesting tank..dirt below the rocks either mean insufficient flow or wrong scape with dead spot..of coz the appealing look of a tank is up to individual, i just find it weird with just a small piece of rock in a big tank..anyway nice fishes u got..cheers
  19. Very nice n ideal location u have for ur tank..staying tuned here for ur update with pics n videos..cheers n happy reefing I agreed with buying reefer fish so as to skip the QT process..of coz u got to QC the fish b4 buying.. Ps: just a suggestion, u can consider place ur top up tank on a higher ground then can use gravity for topping up..really save $ n failproof..
  20. Wow bro..nice pair of golden butterfly..can share where n how much u bought? Feeding pellets?
  21. The fried fish cant see that its emperor leh..i knew that indonesian eat blue ring angel..but if that emperor rip in ur friend's tank, i find it not right to eat la..anyway its personal preferance yea..
  22. More water in sump shd b lower SG unless top with seawater then after evaporation the SG will b higher.. Sump water level shd b dropping at the last compartment which is the return pump..so unless ur skimmer is in the last compartment which is unusual as it will cause bubbles in ur DT..
  23. Bro subzerolt, may i ask why need a pump to pump the skimmate whereas can drain from the skim cup from the drain point(my skimz sk251 have)?
  24. By n large human is still needed for the most unlucky happening that's circuit breaker tripped..unless u got Chappie..haha
