Sorry guys. I made another mistake. I used 0.1 ml of reagent instead of 1ml for testing Ca in the past. Now I tested it again. Ca 424. Kh 8.288. I guess the parameter is balanced.
-
After listening to Alex, I need to adjust my Ca and Kh balance first. Just side track a bit. I have one SPS from GO, it were growing fine and colour was ok, green and blue tips. After a month, it suddenly lost the colour of blue tips and grows some sort of tumor out from branches. Do anyone know what happen?

My 2 x 2 feet x 50cm tank is about 160 liters including sump. I use this calculator http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chemcalc.html. From yesterday to today, my Ca dropped from 411 to 398 despite I am dosing 160 seconds (abt 80ml) daily. In order for me to raise 398 to 411 in Ca, I need to dose A part solution for 55ml. Considering that I have been dosing 160 seconds (abt 80ml) of A part solution daily, I am still short of 55ml (110 seconds) of dosing. I think something must be wrong here. Is there any tank problem debugging service?

Blue tang with missing tail!
tamama replied to oceania's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
I encountered same issue for my yellow tang... the top fin was cut off until I see the bones. I also suspected the crabs which subsequently I killed 5 or 6 of them. Unfortunately my yellow tang didnt survive. -
Tested it agian. I think I have tested the Mg wrongly in the previous two times bcos the colour can turn blue back to pink after a few seconds using the DD tester. Mg: 1440 I used hanner checker for the two below. Ca: 398 Kh: 8 I cannot believe my Ca can be consumed that much. I am dosing A and B equally using marine magic dosing pump. Now it is at 160 seconds at the rate of 0.5ml to 0.6ml per sec. What is eating my calcium.... Should I get a CR instead considering the rate of dosing? A and B solutions aren't that cheap. Any alternative?

I am dosing 140 seconds of Ca daily in 7 intervals. My calcium has dropped from 426 to 411 measured at the same period of time 0030hr. how many more seconds should I dose daily?
-
I measured. Mg increased from 1200 to 1240. Later then I will measure Ca. What is the ideal Mg level?
-
Yep. I have been dosing a bit of blue and red elements weekly. After I change water and dose Mg. I just checked. My Ca is up - 426 now. I will check again tmr to see how much it drops or increases.
-
Ok. I place it at lower part of the tank where other corals are growing
-
1st pic is because I accidentally hit it and dropped onto the rock. I guess it is fine. 6th pic is really tissue lost since day one, but the colony is growing and colour is quite blue. In person, I think colour looks more comfortable to the eyes in T5 light. MH is 14k, so everything is a bit white and over exposed. yeah.. I see if the Mg helps.
-
The MH light is on, there is more light now to capture some of the SPS in my tank. I hope this could tell what it is wrong with my tank.
-
Today I tested my water for Ca and Mg. Ca: 384 Mg: 1200 I think they are at the lower end. I learnt that Mg is low, no matter how much Ca is dosed, it will not be able to boost up the Ca level. Is this true? This is the photo, I took one under T5 and one under MH.

Are you dosing C balance A+B? May I know how many ml you are dosing daily?
-

I set the food timer to feed 4 times a day. So far they are still eating, but not so much as the tangs and wrasses. I hope they can survive.
-
Looks like a tree. How old is this monti?
-
I cannot see the polyps moving, but my tank is 2 ft cube wit 3 wavemakers. Left: 6015, right 6025, there is another one at the bottom back, 6045. I believe flow should be right, because the sps around it are showing growth.

jxlex, thanks for helping still. Appreciate it.
