Can view in person before commit. This sps prefer strong light and moderate flow. Interested please contact James @ 91822409 to arrange for collection this Thursday (14th march) near kovan mrt.
  5. Haha! Ya I must agree that's a very nice piece of ssc frag.
  6. I foresee its going to be another nano totm in due time.
  7. Bsi gel as recommended to me by sis belle. Can stick on any angle, anywhere.
  8. Biopellets removed nitrate more than phosphate if I not wrong. I observed algae actually growing inside my biopellets reactor when exposed to indirect sunlight and concluded that if its effectively removing po4, then there shouldnt be any algae inside the biopellet reactor at all. In fact i feel its a controlled carbon compound dosing, something similar to volka or sugar dosing, purpose is for the bacteria to multiply and consume the nutrients in tank before process by the Skimmer. For po4 removal, I find rowaphos in a FR the most effective. There was once I used too much rowaphos and it completely wipe out all my hair algae within 24hrs, amazing stuff. But end of day, identify and eliminating the po4 root cause should be the ultimate goal. Main contributor from my experience are always fish food(esp frozen),fish poops, nsw and using tapwater without DI/RO.
  9. Wow mp10 + mp40 still not enough on your nano. Can imagine the flow inside. Your sps very colourful, must be lots of effort. How are the polyps extension?
  10. You can reset and focus at least 6 months on good husbandry before trying out sps. Reason being you need a stable tank to keep sps. The 6 months please avoid buying fishes, just keep a few herbivores small fishes to tackle algae problem which is quite common during the first 6 months cycling period. IMO for sps, stable water parameters is number 1, any big fluctuations to your kH, Ph, temperature or phosphate level can cause your sps to stn or rtn. A dosing pump or CR is a good investment. Weekly water change and a good Skimmer will help in nutrients exporting. Second on the list would be flow, you need good random water flow. Will be a challenge if your tank is shallow and have a sandbed. 3rd on my list are lights, too strong a light can bleached your sps, too low a light will most likely result in brown sps. Because sps are sensitive creatures, its worth while to invest in reliable equipment, stick to reputable brands like eheim, arctica, tunze or vortech.....etc Drop a line if you have any queries, many nice reefers here will try to answer them.
  11. Amazing growth on your monticap. Can frag and see me a piece of your green Monti? My hp 91822409
  12. My deep pockets meaning electricity consumption due to light & flow. Agreed with you, natural system definitely look more attractive. Anyway to speed up the time with help from technology?
  13. Deep tank = skilled reefer with deeper pockets. Hehe! Need more flow, need strong lights, need long hands......but you get more water volume, more space to plant your corals. Mike, love your sps deep colours looks as compare to some lower nutrients pale sps looks. Is it true that "higher nutrients" tank sps have deeper colours? How often, how much do you feed your fishes?
  14. Very neat n clean tank. I like that bubble.
  15. Hold status for another 3 more months. Focus on good husbandry and stable water parameters. Culturing copepods, there are couple of reefers selling them, buy 1-2 packets to add into your tank. Instead of fishes, look for tiny tank cleaners at fish farm. Soon you will have a great colourful eco system to enjoy after work.
  16. I thought madpetz have T5 on that shallow tank? But I do agree leds do promote growth, in fact faster than my T5. But colour wise, T5 is much faster. That's my personal observation hence selling off my mazzara P setup. MH 150W should be enough for your 2ft tank if you place your sps carefully. Provide lots of flow for area of least lights.
