  4. Oh haha.....ok normal blue mille should not be too tough. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  5. Bro vtec is correct, carbon dosing is dangerous when skimmer is down due to the bacteria growth will consume the oxygen in the water rapidly. Always standby portable air pumps for emergency purposes, can use it during power failure or like your case skimmer pump failure. Other ways of getting oxygen to tank is by raising your wavemaker near to water surface and deliberately let the air suck in from surface to blow into the tank. Carbon dosing is effective but I still prefer the old school way through refugium nutrients export Also you might want to consider getting good quality reliable pumps for critical services. I know many ehiem users running for more than 8 years without failure. That's the kind of reliability we need to match the effort we put into the tank and to the living things we are responsible for. 6. Wah bro, true blue mille not easy to find Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  7. It all depend on your setup, how important your return pump is and what is the primary function of this return pump. You can save a penny now but lose a pound later. I am a high flow person cos my return goes through the chiller before it return to tank. Slower flow rate means slower nutrients export to me. Anyway the choice is yours. 8. $3k-$4k for a 3ft tank without any support equipment definitely smell like carrot. Unless you are talking acrylic tank, then its dirt cheap. Have a chat with N30 tank maker and see if he can give you a better price if not at throw in return pumps or wave makers or lights. Oh ya and if you are getting a arctica chiller, go for 1/4hp and bigger. Dont make same mistake like me that run hard on 1/5hp and waste electricity. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  9. Absolutely worth doing especially for front view. The colours of corals will appear differently under normal glass Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  10. Yup, btw where u stay? If near kovan I can always pass u a bsi gel. Wanted to have a view of your beautiful tank and learn something from you. You are right on the pumps. Thats y all of my pumps are ehiem 1260-1264. Any failure I can always shutdown my skimmer and use the pump for returns. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

  15. I flood my tank with 2 cubes of mysis once a day. Two times with pellets / tear up nori / henry's gourmet and Three times on pellets auto feeder. Equate to about 6 times a day of feeding which is why my sps colours are not as brilliant but all the 30 fishes are happy
  16. Hee! Alternatively pass me your anthias
  17. Due to busy work schedule, getting your anthias to feed on small pellets on auto feeder can help. I begin with getting a pair of more expensive proper quarantine pellets feeding anthias first. Make sure they feed on the auto feeder for a month first before I start adding other anthias from lfs, the pellets feeding ones will lead those new anthias to feed on pellets. You should always standby wet food like brine shrimps/mysis or many reefers favourite fish food "henry's gourmet" in case the new anthias still "shy".
  18. Shot down, cleaned up but mistakes can't own up.
