I personally think it is big and definitely be heavy, might not be too suitable to place on top of hood unless you have a good support. But if you dismantle everything and just make a Aluminium reflector to hold the bulbs and place the ballasts elsewhere (maybe on the ground or inside the cabinet), $80 is a good buy and a good start for cheapo ppl like us who dont wan to waste hundreds or thousands of dollars on equipments. Just add in 3 more turbo snails with a 250ml packet of Phosguard. No more brown algae problem even with 9hrs of MH and 12hrs of PL actinic.

hehehe, already get a frag to try out liao. So far only using 150W MH without chiller. Upgrading the MH to 1 x 250w & 1 x 400w soon. Thus looking for chiller to support the temp increase. Will update on the progress of the acro frag with 150MH.

Hehe, I have 8 snails to help control algae, help alot but still looking for other algae eaters fish to assist the snails.

Just to add........I also notice anemones are extremely sensitive to sudden change of water properties.....eg, top up 2L of water or kalkwasser mixture at one go, the tentacles will shrink and body fold up. Now I DIY the 2L bottle with a ball valve to control the drip rate so as to minimise the change in water properties. Hope this info and pic helps :-)

Yup, my 3ft tank took abt 2 weeks for the cycling with 18mths old cured Live rocks. 5th day add 2 small fishes, 1st week some crabs,shrimps and snails, 2nd week corals & more fishes. Take ammonia,NO2 & NO3 readings every day.......Only add more when readings are less than 0.3mg/l 10th day - 1 damsel died due to injury after being bullied 11th day - 2nd damsel died (reasons unknown) 30th day - Yellow sabae anemone & Curly Que anemone died due to "sunburn" 35th day - One hermit crab died Present - Feather Star observed dropping some "feathers", leather shredding skins. Rest of the stocks as per below, so far so good.....still monitoring closely.......observed after adding another powerhead for more circulation and flow, Anemones does not shunk or get "sunburn" so easily.

Right, I think I'll put them in the sump for quarantine first.

Took a close up shot of it, just wan to comfirm isit manjona or just the normal anemones. The tips looks more round as compared to the manjona leh.

Got this LR of 18 babies anemones, what does they feed on? I tried cutting small bits of prawns for them, but they like take ages to consume them, maybe too big for their mouth. Any food recommendation?

Carbon + De-chlorinator + Water parameters Test kits, Ammonia,Nitrite,Nitrate,Calcium,Alkalinity + hydrometer + Temperature gauge + Marine Salt + Sponges for mechanical filteration + rubber hoses for your return pumps. If dont wan chiller, better use external pumps, cut down on heat from the pump motors......etc

Might be a Yellow Sabae Anemone? I have one like yours, like to wonder around and it doesn't seems to like too strong light, Mine shunk if I on the MH for for than 8hrs. Whenever I switch off the MH for few hrs, they regain back and bloom. I'm now suspecting the UV from the MH might be "sunburning" them. Still monitoring and experimenting though.
