  7. Iwarna can help you clean up the whole tank and take out all the rocks and scrap off most of the algae for less than $100. They will fill it up with natural sea water. From there onwards, control your bioload (fishes). Feed very little. Give your tank at least 6 months to fully stabilized. Meantime concentrate on nutrients export by diligently doing 10% water change using salt mix with treated water, personally I uses distilled water. Run rowaphos on a FR to keep phosphate level down. Continue plugging off any visible algae probably growing from the nsw nutrients. Give it time from your routine 10% salt mix water change will slowly dilute the nutrients.
  8. Learn something new today from the master, didn't know our tapwater is good enough. Going to explore this option of tapwater with carbon after finish my distilled water.

  11. Tackle hair algae :- 1) Change 10-15% of your tank volume weekly, siphon detritus2) Reduce feeding, ensure no excess floating in the tank3) Use Rowaphos in a Fluidize reactor, I find rowaphos most effective in bringing down phosphate to zero4) Manual plug out those reachable algae by hand or a Pincher5) Reduce bioload (number of fish) base on your tank size and age, the younger your tank, the lesser fish you should have.6) Once 90% of your hair algae is gone, you can try growing some cheato or using Algae scrubber to compete nutrient export out of main tank
  12. I buy distilled water from uncle Patrick $6/20L for my salt mix and calcium / KH dosing. I find its good enough for sps. Alternatively, I think DI/RO is a must.
  13. Not expected to plug everything at one go. Once you use rowaphos, within few days the it will stop or slow down the growth of the hair algae, quite easy to plug from base of algae with fingers or pincher. Target those hair algae near the sps n zoas first, if u don't plug it they will just slowly grow and cover the light / flow to your corals, the part that they covered will slowly die off.
