  6. Nice video, tech M magnesium. ....interesting, but like it says running carbon to absorb those metals components in the Tech M magnesium is important step. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  7. I aim at a range, so that +/- 1 drop does not play a big difference Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  8. Sis, are you using tap water or nsw for water change? Reduce light photoperiod, max 7hrs a day, reduce feeding, weekly water change and try the 3 days blackout. Cover the tank with newspaper n shut down your lights for 3 days. After that perform 20% water change. Then monitor see if it comes back. Rowaphos in reactor will help absorb all the phosphate leeching from the rocks over time. Its a slow process, might take months. Meantime minimise on fishes. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  9. Now I know who to look for gems sps.....hehe! The highest I ever spend on sps is only $100 and that is a 4" ssc frag. I still prefer to chiong those 3 for $100 new shipment Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  10. Simple, put more flow and less rowaphos, confirm tumble. .... Have you found your 3ft T5 light set? I have some used cheap T5 light sets that I previously used for a year and have ati T5 tubes on them. Got 2 tubes ($40), 3 tubes($60) and 4 tubes($60) type. The plastic cover for the 4 tubes light set is broken though but the light set still function well without the cover. For your width, you will need 6 tubes to have full coverage of the tank. Let me know if interested. No issues colouring up lps, sps and clams
  11. I think you will definitely appreciate a sump even if its just for the increase in water volume, you are a lao jiao, you should know why Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  12. I dont use a level switch for my setup cos my refugium sump has alot of buffer space to cater for power failure overflow. But you can incorporated a level switch to the sump return pump so only when level high it cuts in the pump. Alternatively just use a ball valve to control small flow back to tank and keep the sump return pump running all the time in recycle mode. Can arrange to see my setup if u want.
  13. Tank parameters can be perfect, but if its not matured enough, sps can still die. That's why alot of good advises given are "patience". Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  14. Nothing to dose. Just need healthy stable water and good light. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  15. Can be done. As long your sump return pump flow is smaller than your gravity overflow u will be safe. You can make use of a level switch to control the cut in/cut out of your sump return pump. The key is to position the height of your overflow so only extra water from sump return pump back to main tank can overflow back to sump. Meaning if there is no extra water, there is no overflow. I do this setup for my external refugium tank tapping water via gravity from.my ios. Works great. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  16. If it's dinoflagellate, then a 3 days blackout will work. Do a water change with d.i. water after that. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  17. Iwarna frag room a lot. Look for joe-p
  18. Have you found out what cause the stn? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  19. I bought a small frag from joe not too long ago. Hopefully mine will grow into a bullet proof colony like yours too. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  20. Super nice......a must have for sps collectors What led light set are those? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  21. Battle with these hair like algaes for almost a year. Have tried rowaphos, siphoning and turkey blasting them but doesnt really stop it. I believe it should be phosphate leeching from within. I give up on these rocks/branches and replace with new ones then put these in my dark sump. Without light and over a period of time, they die off and now they still sit in the sump to house copepods. 22. At night your pH should be lower and not higher. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  23. You can buy pH calibration fluid at madpetz, aquamarin or local fish accessories store. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  24. Doesn't matter what timing, if you are particular just do your comparison at roughly the same time Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  25. Iwarna has water blaster. But I will recommend you use ehiem for reliability Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
