  11. I am using life reef HSV3, its a in sump or hang on back skimmer. I run it with ehiem 1264 on the mazzei 1" venturi. I tested with ehiem 1260, it is equally good. Average dark tea skimmate 1L per day for my 300L dt. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

  15. Not a problem, during your water change, wash the sand with the old water and then off all your wavemaker and slowly small cup by small cup add the new sand onto the dt. Dont forget to switch on your wavemaker after that. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  16. One more info, I believe in skimmate quantity, for my system I get about 1L of dark tea colour skimmate from my life reef skimmer everyday. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  17. Equation is simple, export must be stronger than import. I only use two main ways to export. 1) over skimming. My skimmer is rated for 1500 litres but my display tank is only 300L. 2) My refugium which consists of dsb & macroalgaes is 150L, which is 1/2 the size of my display tank. With these two main nutrients exporters, I can feed alot without much worries. Of cos plus I diligently do my weekly 20L water change with distilled water salt mixed. During water change i siphon some of the sand in the dt as well as my ios that has detritus settlement. My photoperiod is 14hrs with 8hrs full 100% T5. My rowaphos already 2 months no change and I didnt notice any ill effect so I might discontinue the use of rowaphos next month. Small Bag of the cheapest activated carbon I can find in the market are changed monthly. Thats all, no magic, just plain old school method. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
