Wah u r the first sps tank I see without wc or carbon dosing and yet can achieve such nice colouration on the sps.

Hi guys,
Planning for a 2 weeks holiday and thinking of investing on an alert system for power failure so I can activate a fren to come check or reset the tank. What are the available system locally ?
Anyone carries Neptune system here?
Should be the chromis bah......although small, but they eat n shit alot.....haha! No worries, after 2 weeks the bacteria will overcome the bioload and balance out. Btw, beautiful reef

Yup, thats one of the reason I gave up on po4 test, I just rely on sps colours to take action. Previously I have algae problems also even though po4 was not detectable. What changes on your tank n routine? Any new food? New sand? Or the fishes has growth?

Yup fusilier is good schooling fishes too. I have 3 and they mixed well with my 12 other chromis. And fusilier grew very fast.

I have heavy bioload. Export nutrients through wet Skimming and refugium. My water change regime use to be 1 pail per week (18L distilled water with tropic marine salt mix). Now I do 2 pails water change fortnightly. I find that the increase volume helps to dilute the nutrients more effectively. My corals prefer it this way. I only dose iodine once a week and amino acid on alternate days. Nothing else.

If u cany tune, it means your sump water level might be too high for your skimmer. You can put something below the skimmer base to increase the height so you can tune the knob for the texture of skimmate you desire. For myself I prefer wet skimming for fast nutrients export.

Yes I am using dsb with top layer miracle mud. Its good for macroalgae growth and I think it contributues trace elements to my corals too.
