I agree with temporary hitting 29-30degC is alright but not for long duration. This is from my personnel observations when I was hit by a power failure for few hours. Right now my mixed reef is controlled at 27.4 degC max. Good growth observed. Where is the limit? I have yet to find out.... Just put a filterwool upstream of the bioball or biomedia and do regular change of the wool. For me I am too lazy, I just let the dirt accumulate in my ios and I just siphon them every water change. Personally i believe in mother nature - The sand,The rocks & The time. Cheers, James

The blackout doesnt affect any of my corals. Think of it this way, during a shipment, does the corals get any light or water circulation? Not true, it depend on the right size of tank for the right chiller or compressor. Chiller are still the most efficient for small volume tanks. Cheers, James
