Hi bros, I have a tank running with SPS on it. However I think my lights r a bit weak n aesthetically not very pleasing as its a beams work double bright led (12x 1w white 3x 1w blue). The corals r growing but pretty slowly. My params are good with kH maintaining at 9 and above. The lights made the tank look 'white n bright' which does not look like a reef tank. So any suggestions for LEDs that is not overpowered for my tank spec? And good enough to bring the color of the corals up. Would prefer a type that have a stand to hang on the tank itself.

And I think a tank cannot have 2 species of clowns as they are territorial...

I don't know the name prolly eagle eye? It's red centre with lumi green rims under blue lights. Prolly a common type.

Oh I had chaeto as fuge and that made my tank nitrates to zero. And I assume they will bring my Phospjate down to zero too. They don't?

Hi bros, I had my zoas for over a month now. They are fully opened (about 10 polyps) but have not grown at all. My SPS are growing, my lps are growing. Only my mushrooms and zoas are not. I have not done any feeding except feeding my fishes w the small sized reef pearls for my clowns. My water are as follows: 1.025 sal, 0 nitrates, pH 8.4. Any suggestions to make them grow? P.s. my toadstool leather recently stopped extending their polyps and I saw a light gree layer on the surface. What's happening?

His green birdnest are really fast growers. I just place it in my tank to test if its 'SPS ready'. And it started growing(the growth is actually noticeable) just merely less than a week in my 2 month old tank with just 1 W LED lights. The pink BN looks healthy too with no bleaching or discolouring 'yet' in my tank.

Oh and it's about 2 months old. All in working condition

Hi bros, I wanted to change up to a 1.5 feet tank 1 feet tall tank and was considering the beamworks 1300 double bright lights (18 x 1 watt daylight, 3 x actinic) and was wondering if it could at least sustain softies and LPS. Anyone had tried and had successes with this light? Anyone tried SPS's? Was considering as the light doesn't really burn a hole in my pocket. Thanks for answering!!

Hi Bros, Currently I am considering changing to a 1.5 x 1 x 1 feet bare tank (10gallons). As such I wanted to get my hands on the ac70 to put in filter media and stuff (or even chaeto). I've looked around and I can't seem to find the AC70 model and only saw the 50 version. And its pretty expensive for just a HOB. So anyone used other brands which have similar capabiity/capacity as the AC70 or even the 50 which are still pretty good? I find that the high price is just because of the branding and popularity among aquarists. Sidenote: Anyone here does some kind of DIY LED which is good and could be made to fit this tank dimensions hopefully with a stand too?

Hey bros! After I've failed terribly for my first tank, I've decided to take it slow and doing diligent checks on my little 4 gallon tank. And at least now I've seen some hope! All my corals looks ok ( to me at least) but there's still a few problems I would like to ask advice on as I cant seem to find them elsewhere online. 1. My pH suddenly dropped to very low levels after introducing a small Xenia and 4 mushrooms into the tank. It is around the region of 7.4-7.6 which is very dangerous IMO. I saw a 'pH 8.3' bottle product. Will that save my day? I also heard pH buffer doesnt raise pH too much. Does pH buffer work for me? I took the measurement when the light is on. I guess it be worse at night. Any advice on how to raise it up and stabilise it? 2. My Xenia needs major help! They look very sick! Its the 2nd day in the tank thou. 3. I had a 'free frag' (SPS) from a kind bro who sold me some Zoas. Which are doing fine. Do they look alright in the picture? 4. Wierdly, I pluck out some loose GSP and placed it near the bottom of the tank. Turns out that their polyp extension is bigger and nicer than those near the top! Is the reason that the lights are too bright?
