hmm...i'm quite new to this but after some research here...there are a few things probably to take note.... 1. You probably need to have a sump for your tank...your sump will need to have certain height as you need to place your skimmer n other equipment inside... 2. I think a wood stand cum cabinet will be a very good choice to hide the equipment away from eyes... Irwana has custom builder for wood cabinet if not wrong... just my opinion...cheers and happy reefing

Just went to LFS to look at fishes n corals....and also to find live sand for my tank next week..... They are selling live sand at $5/kg......is it worth it? And also what is the different between their live sand and live sand packed in sealed packaging? Any bros here have experience in this?

This is my first and hopefully to carry on with this hobby for many many years to come....really hard decision to start this as i travel quite a bit for work...but luckily got my wife into this with me......keep finger crossed....keke Here is what I got so far...most of my equipment including tank is used from pasar malam....and got a lot of good tips from bros here... 1. Tank - 5ft x 1.5ft x 2 ft with cabinet and good sump 2. Skimmer - Reef Maniac & BM150 (see which one is more effective) 3. Chiller - Resun C0500 4. FR - Reef Maniac FR 5. ATI T5 Lighting (Bought 3-in timer switch) 6. 2 x LED light (Single bulb) for night light 7. Tunze Wavemaker - 3 nos 8. Some "dead" Live rock (to form the base) 9. BioDigest & BioPellets (From Madpetz) Operation will start next tuesday when my Tank is delivered by SGbros and next day NSW will come as well......looking forward...

Bro, where did you previously brought your live rock from? Sounds like fiji rock for that kind of price....thanks interested.

Madpetz only have Caribsea white and black sand now....but heard from boss....next week got new shipment....

Im also quite interested to know how to custom make a sump...was at one of the reefer house yesterday...he ran his sump without skimmer and ran on 1 return pump only....really efficient..of course he does not have lps or sps...
