I got a UPS in my house...not for fish tank, but alarm system. It is designed to last 1.5hr...cost below $100 ...I think you can check it out at SIM LIM SQ***E. But if you want for a UPS for fish tank with chiller, lights, pumps etc....power consumption need is very high..may need a special high wattage UPS in your case....may easily cost above $500. I could be wrong.

I did not acclimatize my mangroves...just stick them inside the coral sand, ensuring that the roots is underneath....it survive inside my tank for about 4 mths plus already. Never measure difference on Nitrates level ...main concern was cyano and algae bloom. I bought it previously from WATER-CIRCLE (Near Jalan Besar Stadium)...not sure whether they sell anymore now. I used to suffer cyano and algae bloom.....after I tried to reduce my lighting from 12hr to 10hr...PLUS adding 4x mangrove shoots into my 4ft tank....abovementioned problem disappeared for last few mths already. Note : I used only PL+FL.....mangrove shoots seemed to grow in diameter....usually grow new leaves.

When I feed DT Live for my LS, I usually switch-off my Canister Filer, UV Sterilizer and Skimmer for 2hrs on every two days.... no adverse effect observed on my LS...all 4x cleaner shrimps, 2x cleaner wrasses, 2x tangs, 2x percula clowns, 1x firefish, 1x red wrasse, 10x corals and 3x clams. Or was I just plain lucky....did I accidentally test the limit of switching off the filter far too long? Any advise

Word of Caution....I am not familiar with LifeTech brand...please confirm if it can be used externally. Otherwise, you may risk a fire hazard or your place be burnt ! Try using Eheim or Iwaki or some reputable external pump, I believe they are more reliable and safe. Personally I use Eheim 1262 (3400L/h @ 85W)...not hot at all ! Regards, Golf

Just wonder.....I think P*tM*rt is selling Eheim 1260 (2400L/hr) at $150 and 1262 (3,400L/hr) at $215. Someone said that C328 is selling 1262 at $205 each if buy two pcs. New unit with one year warranty...correct me if I am wrong. Cheers!

I think Coralife UVC Turbo-twist price is ard $150~$300, depending on 3x (9W) , 6x (16W) or 12x (36W).

Some LFS told me that "mated pair" true percula clown are mostly sales gimmick trying to earn bigger bucks. What they usually do is to put two similar pattern clownfish, one big and the other a smaller one (+/- half the size) together. If they dun fight, they will be sold as "mated pair"...then price $$$ will depends on unique colouration, pattern and comparable size. If they fight (torn fins), they will be separated and paired with another batch. I bought my percula clown separately. Put in the smaller one (half the size) into the tank first...one week later, put in the bigger one. Fortunately, they paired-up successfully with no problem. Just my 3 cents worth....Cheers!

My Eheim 1262 takes inlet from main tank..no self priming man ! Sometimes, got to use my mouth to "prime" the water into the inlet pipe / pump. I read from 1262 manual....stated no self priming too. If your 1262's inlet is of lower level and water is able to pass thru' the pump, then no need to prime lah. Have a nice weekend ! Golf

Yah lah ! 2260 is a canister filter. But I think he got typo mistake lah...maybe he meant 1260. Sure, both 1260 and 1262 are universal type . They can be mounted outside the tank (dry condition). This will eliminate heat contribution...only problem is; these two models do not have self priming. If your inlet is from the sump, then no problem. But if you inlet comes from the main tank, and not water inside the inlet pipe...then must use "mouth resucstitation" liao. Regards, Golf

I think 6-lines are basically reef safe...but it is also known to eat smaller shrimps, crabs, flat worms, snails. That is when they are useful. Just make sure your shrimps are much larger in size than your 6-line. One more thing, they can be quite territorial at times...only bully those mild or smaller guys ..but will retreat when larger ones comes along. Regards, Golf

Ya! Eheim 1262 is not hot at all even though it runs at 80W. Only slightly warm...I place it outside my tank. Pretty quiet and very minimal vibration (hardly notice) too. Where is C328, can PM me the address ? Many thanks !!!

I have got 1 white cheek tang. With me for 3 mths liao. 1. Yes, mine also turn from dark coloured body to lighter tones. Needs alot of swimming space....and hidding place too. (I think >3ft tank is neccessary) 2. It eats well...pellets, mysis, nori..all can. 3. Like Blue Tang, prone to white spots but heals easily...with garlic, doctor fishes and cleaner shrimps. 4. Hi ! I have two Croceas Clams...after a few months, they shifted from their original small flat piece of stone and move towards each other. Eventually, both clams were side-by-side. With its base stuck on a large piece of LR. I am think of removing one of them and place it else where. But I need some advise from experts on how to remove them safely, without damaging the "flesh".
