  3. hi, I am also using the Macro NW skimmer. From my own experience, the pump must not be too deep in the water. Too deep and there will be not much bubbles. In my case, the pump intake is only 5cm from the water surface. I do this by placing the pump on a live rock inside the sump to make it nearer to the water surface.

  6. hi Steven, Actually I tried what aStRoBo| said and he was right...the skimmer pump should be nearer to the surface. According to the instruction, it recommended the pump to be placed within 10 cm from the water surface. I tried it and the bubbles all started to foam....

  8. Hi Tansh, U are correct...its a macro needle wheel skimmer No bubbles yet leh......it says on the instruction that it will take 72 hrs to stabilise?? Still waiting for it to happen..... Dr Evil, Yes, T5 customised from Jireh....
  9. Hi Tansh, My skimmer just started about 2 days.....no skimate yet. and also not much bubbles. I suppose must wait for a while for it to get "seasoned" ?? Any comments from other fellow reefers?

  11. Hi, Thanks.. that was fast and educational! Your description of this snail's behaviour is what i have observed in my tank as well. BTW, i picked it up when I was at a beach in Sentosa...very hardworking fella and likes to bury itself under the sand indeed.

  13. Hi, Can anyone Id this fellow? The picture may not be that clear. It has a mouth that looks like an elephant trunk and a pair of alien eyes that looks upwards..

  16. after 10 days of cycling using cured live rocks and a prawn...found that its now safe for the 1st residents to arrive... Transfer the 1st batch from 2ft (HDB) to the 4ft (landed property)....
  17. Cut some light diffuser to place at the overflow to prevent any unfortunate accident of any snail or fish that may drop into the overflow tower and block my return pipe.
  18. cyclying starts on 24 Nov 04.. notice one market prawn at bottom right of tank... The Rio 32 pump is very power man....the return pipe flew off to the ceiling like a fountain...forgot to stick that part.... lucky i was quick to off the pump in time...phew!!
