  1. hope to see your underwater world in time to come...
  2. I presume your tank is already 'mature'. Personally, I isolate all my new fish to get them to feed or get use to the fish food. Once it recognised what is food and 'fattened', release into main tank. I find new fish will stand a much better chance surviving the senior tank mates. For me, taping a mirror onto the tank will work for most fish but my emperor is not interested. Read more from the experienced guys here, anyway I am still learning too........
  3. Clee123- just curious u giving up hobby or getting bigger tank
  4. Nice tank and it's indeed a good deal!!
  5. newcomer make a guess...should be easy...definitely not rare but I like.
  6. Nice pbt. Think u need to give seaweed more frequently to fattten the Tangs....
  7. This should help... http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+504+539&pcatid=539
  8. haha...Tangs shit like powder blast...emperor angel like mini capsule shape.
  9. I have some tangs living together....not much issue but of course there will be a "show of fins opening" to show who is the boss. Currently have 1 naso, 1blue, 1 sailfin, 2 YT. Other bros here have even more types and some tang species are less tolerant to other tangs. Normally, for newcomers, I will put it in a basket first, for it to recognise what is food (roasted seaweed/pellets etc). After feeding a few days, (maybe 3 days) release into tank. Then continue to replenish seaweed frequently, after a while become pui tang. Red bamboo mentioned by Solo77 is a good idea too, since it is "natural food" from the sea.
  10. Its a bulging tummy due to good makan and the fact that one other fish eats first until the emperor does. Also this was taken after feeding. In fact, most of my fish are pui pui. I will be concerned if its had a sunken tummy, like my previous emperor which died without much interest in food....
  11. Miniatus Grouper AKA Blue-Spot Rockcod....released into tank. Like the bright red colour but can't see its blue/purple spots in video.
  12. Can consider this a LFS update? :D Just saw this at least 2 feet long moray eel (anyone can ID?) at one Sheng Siong supermarket!? It was placed together with some sea bass... Never knew SS sell such fish....for makan?
  13. I tried blender and chopper before. I find that the blender makes the food too fine. Prefer to use chopper. Also I put the chopped up food in a ziplock bag, flatten it and place it flat in the freezer. Once frozen, take out for less than 5 minutes and cut into desired size. Place back into ziplock and take out desired amount during feeding. Usually, I take out a piece and keep in a plastic bowl with cover (those used for "Tapow" mee pok) and keep it in the fridge.
  14. The second newcomer: Miniatus Grouper. Still off colour...adjusting to new environment. Fed on my homemade seafood easily without hesitation... Hope to see the "bright red with blue spots" soon.
