Got this bucket of Coralife salt......haiz...later then realised should have bought 2 buckets instead.... why? Because to achieve the salinity....had to empty the whole bucket at on shot!! Think this bucket left there to collect dust for a while...

Hi , After I stopped my marine tank previously, as I was moving house, I did abit of fresh water community tank but later in my heart I still kind of missed marine fishkeeping. So I decided to return....and this time I go for bare bottom (I mean the tank of course) with live rocks. Also I will not be getting a chiller this time because afraid that it will be noisy and wake up the baby........of couse also to save electricity. So it will be a FOWLR....

Hi, A fan will be useful. I am now using one fan (think 12cm by 12cm fan ) for my 4 ft tank. Before using, temp was about 31.5-32 degree. Now can get 28.4 to 29.5 degree.

Bro reddevil and barnacle, Thanks. will check the sponge. BTW i just put in the rowaphos for 2 days and already "choke". this means the fine particles likely have choke the sponge. Also is this the correct way to place the sponge?

Hi, I am using a resun 1000 FR with rowaphos and a pump at 2300l per hour. I observed that as the days goes by (say a week), the rowaphos seemed to moved less actively on the surface and those at the bottom of the FR dont seem to move at all. Just want to check your experience in this area and whether this is normal.
