  3. I seriously doubt you can bring livestocks out of SG. Best to double confirm. Cheers!
  4. Thought $0.95 for 2X 1.5 litre was already on offer till yesterday? So that means from today onwards, price going to reduce further? Any Bros/Sis can double confirm? Thks.
  5. Hi Reefers, as above, just to share the findings by Leng Sy (EcoSystem Aquarium). The following are his findings :-. Activated carbon has been used for years and is very popular to use in both freshwater and marine aquaria due to its effect at making aquarium water look sparkling clear. The effect of activated carbon on marine fish in aquaria is well known. Heavy use of activated carbon over prolonged periods of time can lead to the development of hole in the head disease, also called lateral line erosion in fishes. This effect is commonly seen in tangs and angelfish, but can even be seen in damselfish when carbon is used continuously over a long period of time. However, the effect of activated carbon on corals is not well documented in reef aquaria. It is our experience that the heavy use of activated carbon in reef aquarium can kill corals. This effect will show when otherwise healthy corals suddenly start bleaching from the tips.
  6. You confirmed getting 0ppm for Life brand distilled water?
  7. I've measured both before Fairprice pure is @8ppm whereas Life is @3ppm.
  8. Yup, the only way is to suck it out using a tube during your weekly maintenance.Cheers!
  9. What type of wood is the frame structure? Either you install a ventilation fan to exhaust out the wet & salty air out of the compartment or apply a layer or 2 lacquer onto the frame. Cheers!
  10. That's a very well made video . Thks for sharing.
  11. Hi Reefers, was thinking, due to the frequent earthquake effect from Sumatra on SG, anyone here affected in terms of your reef/marine tank shaking? Anything bad encountered? Care to share? Thks.
  12. Looks like your mind is made up..share with us your findings once your set is here
  13. Hmm..specs look familiar Personally, I would. I presume high percentage of components found in those ex. brand LED lighting set are actually made in China
  14. Looks like you did not do a proper cycling before adding livestocks I would suggest buying a big bottle of beneficial bacterias & dose daily till all crucial perimeters are within acceptable level.
  15. Buy those unseasoned seaweed..look carefully at the packaging. Cheers!
  16. Bro Legent, your pH is on the low side. The ideal range should be bet. 8.0 to 8.5
  17. C328 (Clementi Aquarium) is selling things at a very good price. Check it out
  18. If it's for 5ft tank, then buying natural sea water to fill up initially is more economical. After that during the cycling period, you can then use salt mix with RO or distilled water to do a 10-20% weekly change.
  19. Clementi Aquarium have quite a number of NLS stocks. As a matter of fact, I even bought 1 from lady boss.
  20. Measured readings on purchased distilled water is 2ppm.
