Yes, u will need a chiller unless u can maintain a stable temp of 26... No, u definitely cant put it in now! Ur tank have to be fully cycled and the parameters have to be right and very stable. That is stable temp, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, ~0 nitrate. Anemones will not do well in new tanks, u probly have to wait for ur tank to mature first which imo, at least 3mnths old, before u even attempt to keep anemone. Why not start with simple corals first like mushrooms and zoas( after ur tank has completed cycling ). Learn as much as u can about basic water chemistry and reefing keeping.

BTA - bubble tip anemone This is my bta with my maroon. Some say u shld never buy anemone this color, usually this color means they have bleached. Which means it lost its zooxanthellae (due to shock, stress or injury.,) which an enemone uses to make food thru absorbing light. Bleached anemone looks whitish and transparent. Usually they will die very soon, some how i manage to keep this anemone for 6 months...

Its a bacteria bloom and common occurance when using biopellets. Similiar thing happened to me when first started using bp. Like fellow reefers reccommend... Use an airpump to boost up oxygen level, do a 20% wc, reduce the flow to the reactor(it should be tumbling gently, not violently). My tank cleared up on the fourth day, and i never deduce the amount of bp though. But monitor your fish for stress... On my case, the bacteria bloom did not have any ill effects on my livestock, just unsightly cloudy tank..

Is Chiller Necessary for Coral
Slayer213 replied to Benjamin Seetor's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
In my opinion, using fan will just cause water to evaporate too fast and thus causing temp fluctuations... A chiller will give u a more stable temp and eliminate constant water topups. Plus u can keep most corals without having worry about temp. I would get a slightly larger chiller which will maintain temp at a faster rate thus saving electricity. Ideal temp for most corals shld be around 26. If budget is of concern, try looking at the pasar malam forum, reefers do sell used chillers all the time. -
Hi veronica, ok.. Clownfish hosting is sometimes a hit or miss thing... Sometimes they even host featherdusters or powerheads even theres a nice big bubble tip anemone around! Some clowns just refuse to go near anemones for whatever reason... You can google the net for clown hosting compatibility chart, which will tell you which anemone will more likely host which clown. I think maroon clowns and clarke clowns are the more easy fish to host anemone.... But then again, anemones are really not really easy to care for, water paramemters must be good, plus suitable lighting and current also key to keeping anemones. Go for easier species like the BTAs for a start... And they tend to move ard the tank until they find a suitable place to stay, so it might be the back of ur liverock which u wont see it anymore... Not to discourage you, just give u some heads up! Btw... Nice tank!
