By the way lfs says it’s pointless to dose alk now cos my system is not balanced. Best is to do water change. Issue is that it seems the problem could be the salt?
I continue to get high calcium and Low alk. Now after adding more corals, my alk will be around 6.1 -6.3 about 3 days after water change. Can’t understand what’s causing this.
I did a test on a pail of freshly mix saltwater. Alk is 9.2 which is about right nut calcium is 500, too high based on what it says on the salt bucket (fauna Marin). Any idea why this can be happening? By the way I’m using Ro/di and not tap water.
Hi guys,
My parameters as follows :-
ph 8.15 stable based on Salifert checker
calcium 500+ based on Red Sea checker
alkalinity 7.2 after water change. 6.9 at end of 6-7days based on Hanna checker
I think I need to increase my alkalinity. How should I do it safely? Can I use Red Sea foundation b?
thanks
I’m only gonna do few livestock and focus on corals.
I find QT for corals toughest to do. Need to take care of flow, light and temperature. It’s like setting up another aquarium.
