    Zoas?

yep or u can look around in the forum, sometimes have rare gems!
  6. I wouldn't advise a 2 ft for a lionfish... I doubt you are going to keep one or two onli, even though lionfish doesn't move much... It's still more suitable for a 4 or more... unless u wanna go with dwarfs, reason being, they grow real fast in like a span of 6 months. But to ur qn, no lionfish doesn't need any chiller... They are considered pesky fishes in some areas so they realli can go with lousier conditions
  7. It really does depends on what kind you are talking about... post a pic and I'm sure many of us will have a clearer picture
  8. seletar farmway they have good stuff there and often on discount
  9. Sorry for the late reply, I'm using 8 x T5 tubes, 4 white 4 blueplus(Is that too much white)? The ones that are not happy were my bubble, shifted them around again a little and they seem to be doing better. Now the ones that are being unhappy are my gonios and zoas. My zoas seemed to have gone into permanent "hibernation". Guess I'm gonna move them around again to see what's wrong.
  10. Hi bro, my P04 is around 0.3-0.4 also for my NOs, I can't get a good reading of them because the colour does not appear on the colour chart. As in if it much lighter than the lowest level, so I believe it is fine.
  11. Hi all, I have a 4x2x2 ft tank and a 3ft sump + skimmer. Some corals of my tank are doing extremely fine, while some are not. Fishes seem to be doing fine as well. My water parameters are at the acceptable level. Salinity is at 1.024 and temp at 25-26deg. This is the amount of fishes that I have currently: 3 blue tang(1 big 2 small) 2 yellow tang(1big 1 small) 1 kole eye 1 moorish idol 1 flame angel 1 maroon clown 1 scooter about 10 cleanup crew(snails and hermits) Recently(2 days back) my friend had to "hotel" his fish in my tank while is another additional 1 Percula 3 chromis 1 bicolor 1 algae blenny I am afraid that my bioload is too heavy. i.e. It's overstocked at the moment. Anyone can give some advise please!
  12. just a question if seahorse with liverocks onli, can they survive? do they need skimmer?
  13. anyone got info on why my fish suddenly go missing oso? can't seem to find the corpse around even! I only have 3 tang fishes and a couple of clean up crew
  14. Ups for very clear explanation. One more thing to cycling is the longer the better. After the cycle, put in fish in small amounts at a time, I usually start with the most precious(expensive) fish so that he can establish his territory.
  15. Hi bro, Normally the centre structure is just two sets of screws and a plank of wood, if your sump tank is not in yet, I am guessing that your aquarium is not on the cabinet yet, than you can remove the centre plank and put in the sump first than put back the centre structure. Just my two cents worth as I dunno how your cabinet look like
  16. not really sure about the benefits in term of health wise for the corals, but I did see at AM when they use red and blue led, looks really sweee
  17. I personally would go against having a canister filter if you were to have corals in there. The temptation of having more corals and more fishes are always there! And besides, it being a 3 ft tank means you would not want to have 2 or 3 corals and 2 or 3 fishes as we just cannot resist the temptation.(I'm guilty of all these at the start too!) And from the above messages, if you are on a tight budget(i.e. you are a student just like me), I realized that it is really not worth it to start with a lousy set-up. I used to have a 10 gallon nano, upgraded to a standard 2 feet with canister and upgraded to a 2nd hand 4 feet tank, reason being these fishes and corals just cannot tahan less than Pristine conditions( with the exceptions of few fishes like damsels etc). In the end, I calculated the damage done is more than enough to buy decent equipment i.e. 10 dollars here 10 dollars there = many dollars here and there. So my advise would be having a 3ft is already a solid setup(size wise), if you dun have and cant make a hole in your tank, you can consider piping it using pvc pipes or diy a small compartment to make a overflow than links out to a sump. The amount of time, effort and heartache that you save with a good equipment goes a long way! Hope you have fun with marine!
  18. Hi Bro, thanks for your advice. What about if I want to keep corals? how to get the wavvy kinda feel. like the left right left right kind
  19. Remember the bigger is better philosophy! If you are keeping fishes only, you can stay off the chiller, until you got more money to buy a better second hand chiller(first hand is too expensive for students like us) After that than buy the corals, in that case, you also will have more time to maintain the water conditions that these corals need. *I'm a firm believer of getting everything in place before the stocks goes in Hope that helped
  20. Hi I have upgraded to a 4.5ft by 2ft by 2.5ft tank (approx 140 gallons in display), My current return rate is 5000l/h with and I have a wavemaker that does 5000l/h as well. Was just wondering if this water movement rate is enough as I do see quite a few spots which are relatively "dirty" and I have adjusted the position of the wavemaker a few times. Any help would be greatly appreciated
