Maybe we can mount an 'expedition'? (but not a plundering trip and definately not while flying the SRC banner)
-
Ya man....... come back from school, buy tikam tikam, fight spider, and watch ULTRAMAN........ I loved Battlestar Gallactica, is it Starbuck and Apollo? Btw, I think I have the movie or an episode somewhere, if anyone's interested, let me know.
-
Actually man, I'm 10 years your senior, but am glad you're familiar with the 80s action movie (I wouldn't call them classics though). DVDs, ya're right, its about time they bring them reels out of the cupboards and have them remastered or something.

Thanks BarraCuda, that makes sense. As I understand windscreens are made of them too. When I had my accident (going 140 in a 70 zone ), I was 'showered' with it, good thing is a least it doesn't cut. Ok, back to regular glass then.

dodo, This might just be your solution to catch that 'damn-sel' of yours instead of him giving you the runaround with that lousy netting skill of yours.....

AH....the true wonder of the Internet.... Btw, I chanced upon a nice tank, but only 6mm thick, the boss told me that its made of tempered glass so its suitable for marine tank. Wonder how true is that?
-
Airwolf eh? I familiar with that then-look-so-sleek chopper. Then I suppose Blue Thunder and the A-Team does bring back some fond memories eh.....
-
My boss has always encouraged us to take up a hobby..... I'm just practising what he preaches.....
-
Oops, sorry BarraCudaâ„¢, well, time to remind everyone again eh? One thing to note though, the screensaver is quite resource intensive, so make sure you have a powerful machine and kickass graphic card to cope. Btw, AT, you can visit the website and put Achilles Tang on the wish list, but don't lead them here since we're posting a valid KEY

Hi guys, Follow the link below to get this really really cool screensaver of a marine tank in Direct3D HAL: http://www.serenescreen.com/ You guys are gonna love this...... Its a demo version, but if you want to see more fish on your screen, PM me

yup, saw it too. Three in a showtank and a another bunch at the back in one of the tank. Really graceful but too bad its not for beginners, think I was quoted around $30+ expensive?

I ORD in 1996, up to now have never recieve my COS. Will there be an issue?

Oops, sorry, I'm Victor Kel, You can probably lay to rest something that has been bugging me for a while. In EP2, the StormTroopers are supposed to be clones of Jango Fett, but somehow, they seem to look like that Captain of Natalie Portman? Sorry guys, hope you don't me asking something about Star Wars.

Frankly, it something off the top of my head ... I met some clown trying to impress me with his 'ingrish' and kept using the term: 'Rumour has it.......blah blah blah.....' and again , 'Rumour has it.....' Well, I took that as a nick then, not too bad, at least something good came out of that 'bullshit-punctuated' conversation.

Looks good, I'm interested too

Not that I have much opportunity to read newspaper (no life lah, that's why starting marine tank, a man needs a hobby man) But I did a search, and viola, thanks Spade, its all about an artificial reef. "SP students created a 10x5 feet artificial reef that consists of an array of orifices to serve as a habitat for marine flora and fauna, and an underwater lighting and cathodic potential system that attracts marine life. Called "SEACIL" affectionately, reflects the idea of the sea and also the concept of sealant which is what the artificial reef is - a pouring of a grout (cement) sealant into a bag frame to create a concrete underwater strcture. A few structures can then be made to combine it into a larger design." http://www.sp.edu.sg/iyso/SPwebNews/artificialreef.htm Something to think about, wonder if we could somehow achieve it, that way we'll never run out of corals......

Thanks [d]3v|L. Well, its just a metric they use to measure the extent of your contribution. You can only click once a day so if you keep coming back every day, you'll see how much you distance (conservation effort) you made. Not to mention the feel good factor.... It does not cost you a cent, except perhaps 5 miuntes of your online time.... With every click, a minute amount of say 1 cent is donated to Oceana, an non-profit organisation which advocates ocean conservation. If you notice, they have other campaigns, Save the Rainforest (sq feet of forest saved), Big Cats (sq ft of territory), Primates (bananas) and Prevention of Breast Cancer. Do give it a go

Hi guys, Thought of giving something back to the ocean from which we have derived so much pleasure? Visit Care2.com: http://oceans.care2.com/ Just a click and giving sponsors the 'eyeball', a small donation will be made to Oceana's ocean protection programs. There are additional information there if you are interested. Just in case u are wondering, this is NOT a scam. Its genuine and since we've been 'taking', I thought its time we return the favour. EVERY CLICK COUNTS !!!!!

Fair enough, we don't want to jeopardise precious fish and corals which might be wasted due to that. I have a question though, are the corals from LFS farmed or illegally plucked from reserves? From the looks of it, local authorities are restricting on Live Rocks as it is. Its my understanding that in US, they only advocate purchases from authorised dealers (who obtain stocks from farms)

A Refugium is a separate tank or container attached to your main tank that has a source of light and slower water flow and is a safe haven for lots of critters that reproduce and add greater biodiversity and natural live food to your display tank. A Refugium may be lit at opposite times from your display tank or 24 hours a day. If space allows, a large Refugium well lit when your tank lights are off, or 24 hours a day, will provide your entire system with amazingly stable and healthy water conditions plus supply your fish and corals with a new dimension of diversity and nutrition. Refugia are interesting systems in their own right and a glass or acrylic tank will serve you well and provide hours of fascinating enjoyment! - Dr. Mac http://www.rmgconstruction.com/refugium.htm

Hi Guys, Well met, excellent forum you have here, can't tell how many hours I spent here already but the information here is staggering. Actually, I'm new to this hobby, and as like any other new hobbyist, I'm dying to dive into the action. I know I know, read up, research.... research and more research. I'm all into that now. (Think I've read enough disaster related threads already) Anyways, I'm thinking small since I'm still staying with my parents (ya...ya...ya), but my aparment is coming up the year after so I have some time to experiment before I go the full-nine-yards. I'm conceptualising a budget-oriented, stage-based implementation of a typical marine tank setup. I figured that would assist most new acquarists, particularly those with a budget in mind. (Actually, this is really my job, I design and develop training methodologies for professionals, so i thought might as well contribute) Unless of course, if you think my focus is wrong, please let me know. So, if you will, please provide any ideas that you may have. Thanks.
