  1. Personally, I prefer the Neons as they are hardy and easy to feed. Think DeepBlue and AT can vouch for their effectiveness in dealing with parasites.
  2. They will fight at the beginning since they are very territorial, but they should pair up soon enough.
  3. I kinda prefer the previous softer blue scheme, this one is slightly harsher with its greater contrast. There's something with the buttons as well which I can't pinpoint
  4. You'd be glad to know a certain well established and equipped LFF will be bringing in this 'gem'
  5. New pumps may contain traces of oil which will throw off the charge equilibrium the skimmer achieved earlier. Coupled with the change in throughout, technically, you'll have to start over again. 1) Open the gate and air valve completely. 2) Close the gate valve in half turns till the water level within the skimmer body is about 1 inch above the internal platform. 3) Start closing it in minute adjustments; every interval requires a lead time before it can stabilise, so do not re-adjust too quickly. Patience is a virtue. 4) Adjust the foam level along the foam tower for wet or dry skimmate; whichever is only a matter of personal preference. I find cleaning the skimmate cup a bitch so I like mine wet, like girls in T-shirts.

  7. Just came back from #### The Basslets are real beauties ....
  8. I'm a satisfied user of the TUBBY too. Was away for 2 weeks and it did its job well. Simply put, you pay for what you get; quality and reliability No point saving that few dollars and compromise the thousand dollar setup and livestock
  9. we'll need a clearer picture than that. A new ID section has been setup for identification. I'll move this topic there now.
  10. moving this out to the Member's Tank section
  11. Not to sound too blunt, look at kids these days, they are exactly what the Chinese nationals have to say about them. Also, I met up with some secondary friends a few weekends ago, most of their kids are 1 or 2 allergies away from having to become a bubble boy / girl. Kids are allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts ... u name it Few years from now, kids below the age of 15 cannot step into a supermarket without going into fits. They can't pour their own drinks coz they're allergic to ceramic. Wait a minute, they can't pour their own drinks ... period. I have yet to come up with a theory for that, perhaps this new topic will detract you from the age old stick/carrot problem. IMO This deserves more attention now. When you guys are done with that, then can consier going back to discuss further on are the Chinese nationals telling the truth about local kids.
  12. I'm only inferring from normal human behaviour for my deductions. I don't let small stuff bother me, they are only small stuff Delve too much into it, one tend to get caught up in the details and lose focus.
  13. I'd classify that, at best, bad execution amidst the best intention. Real mind games get the kids (even adults) thinking instead of wondering. Setting boundaries seem like a good practice, I'd give you that. But setting a wrong benchmark is worst than none at all.
  14. Ease of maintenance Scalability (option to upgrade) Just 2 for the moment, you guys have to look at other aspects.
  15. Siput, that sounds psychological to me As a matter of fact, almost every punishment you dish out is pretty much so. Try dealing with adults, much worse ....
  16. Oh yes they do ... as a matter of fact, she tells you exactly how many ...
  17. Don't mind Tanz, he's been at it for a while. For all its worth, I sit on the fence with this one. I give them one chance to understand what they have done wrong, after that I go for where it hurts most ... more psychological than physical, not the nuts
  18. Funny how bad things always happen together. It should be total mayhem at BCA now
  19. Thanks for the concern I was at Ayer Rajah this morning, came back just before lunch ... bit freaky isn't it?
  20. If in the remote possibility that you have Van Halen's original 1986 cover of '5150', in mint or at least NM condition, let me know
  21. Harlequins may seem a nice choice but you have to consider the upkeep of it. Since they're obligate Echinoderms feeders, you will be required to feed them live starfish on a regular basis. If you're using regular sandsifter starfish, they die quickly when set on by Harlequins. Unless they are consumed quickly, it'll pollute your water. So assuming you have a nano, it'll shot the water quality quickly. Do you think that is a possible scenario?
  22. Reminds me of metalskins The indicator for new topic or replies are a little inconspicious though. Perhaps next month, we'll have a scheme based on Macintosh? Now that's Coooooool....
  23. Last I saw, there is a good number of them, maybe 10?
