  1. hi bro. based on my newbie experience, lights shouldn't be turned on for 24hrs. you have to determine the time frame of your lighting according to the different corals which you are gonna get. too much intensity or period of lighting may in fact be detrimental to your corals. as for your temperature of 32 deg.. it is WAY too high. try to have your temperature at below 28 deg if possible. while i've read that cycling the tank with a higher temperature is in fact better, you wouldn't want to risk it at 32 deg. that is all that i can advise. i believe the more senior bros here will be able to help better.
  2. Hi guys, Is it me or do I seldom see Moorish Idols in reef tanks? Are they really difficult to rear? They are tangs so they don't nip or eat corals, am I right? Do they not get along well with other fishes? Per say, they are really one of the most beautiful fishes going around as the shape of their body is really unique..

  6. Hi reef bros, Any recommended skimmers and chillers for a 4 by 2.5 by 2 feet tank? Approximately 600l for both sump and main tank. Kinda on a budget so please don't recommend high-end ones. Thanks!
  7. Hi Bros, Any tested and proven methods on how to 'totally cure' live rocks?
  8. hi bro. am interested in the tank. please pm if you see this.

  11. Thanks for the kind reply bros. Do you mean that I should get a tank maker to design both a tank and cabinet for me? Even if I go IOS?
  12. Hi Bros, I have been in a dilemma over the past few weeks regarding an upgrade to a new tank. I have a 2 feet running on an HoB + UGF now but with the urge of always visiting LFS and forum-surfing, I want to commit to a 4 feet glass/acrylic tank. The problem though is, I cannot do a sump due to factors such as electrical costs and such. Cracking my head over the past 2 weeks, I've finally decided that an IOS would be second-best to a sump. The problem now though is that, I have trouble finding a cabinet for a tank which I have not made. Tentatively, the dimensions of the tank would be at 4 by 1 by 1.5. Upon calculations, the volume of the tank would be at about 150 litres equalling to a total weight of about 170-190kg (depending on whether acrylic or glass is used for the tank). What should I do?
  13. Hi bros, Want to start a new tank. Let me know if anyone is releasing.
  14. The cabinet which I need is to accomodate lots of other decors such as the telephone and vase.. Also, I don't have much of a budget to custom build a cabinet. I was thinking along the line of those cabinets which can fit the tank and also the rest of the other stuff. My tank will be at about 200kg so I'm having a big headache on how I would even find one.
