  1. hi, just wondering if ABC helps soft coral and LPS? coz i keep reading on sps in this thread but i dont keep sps. Just got my bottle ytd along with ca and mg
  2. realized the problem i might be facing could be due to water change. (realize kh drops each time i do water change). i am using irwana di water and fritz pro salt, made a small amount to do my test today. result is: alk: around 6.1 ~ 6.4 mg: 1140 ca: 390 sal level i used: 1.023~1.024 any others using fritz salt can help verify? or am i mixing my salt wrongly (just started to do it before i bought ready mixed). if the kh is really at that range and considering my inital KH was probably high due to adding coraline gro from seachem earlier on, each time i change water will cause a drop. Last WC i did was on 30/04. kh dropped from a constant of 8.6 for 5 days or 25/04 - 30/04 (amount of time i changed from redsea to salifert test kit), to 8.3 (which has remained constant till today.
  3. ok. got it. always thought salt is just make salty only dint realize it affects ph and alk. i have never done a test on the water i added in. next time i mix finish liao got to do a good test.
  4. Swimming pools size like that at the adventure cove snorkelling area in rws would be good for me lol
  5. i think u should get salifert. i regret not taking my test properly at the start...lucky everything is working fine for me except sps for the moment
  6. Before was next to each other. Mms I already more the clam down to bottom spot. Seems like more peeps n guide saying squamosa prefer sandbed. Tml holiday so I might not go office this don't want to take the risk.
  7. FYI: The hang on refu if u want can get at pasir ris there can't rmb name...(opposite the rd of ah beng). The one full of Dymaz product. They got 3 differen size. Just went two weeks back. Clementi only have 1 size n think limited stock (only saw 1 after visiting them 5 times last 2 mth).. Yishun dun even have last I visit them 2 mth back. At least this is what I know
  8. Hi just wondering if any bros here did through testing on irwana DI/Ro water? if so what is the ALK? i will try to bring along a clean and new bottle to get a bit extra from them the next top up to do a through test. I just did a test on alk today its 3.8?? (result maybe wrong as i had just washed all my syringe after testing tank water had to use tissue to try and wipe the interior and fan it asap before leaving office.)
  9. u can get some good bacteria from henry at clementi. i used his for my cycling. pretty good. You can just inform him your tank size than he calculate for you the dosage. Get the powder one (cant rmb what it is called but rmb him saying something about it being grade A bacteria etc). i recall that if you do a dose and water not cloudy using his quite safe to say can slowly add lifestock liao (at least thats what i did. dose not cloudy waited 3 days and add). i know not really by protocol but thinking back i am glad i used this method coz my testkit were all expired haha dint even realize...
  10. Hi, 1. was wondering what are the reef nutrition products you all are using for your tank? so far i have used oysterfeast, phytofeast, actipods and tigger pods and have been pretty happy except for tigger pods coz cultivating them failed... actipods my fish used to like but ever since i started feeding frozen food from henry they like prefer frozen food liao. 2. also was at irwana today when i saw http://reefnutrition.com/tigger_feast.php. anyone used before? especially on mandarin will they feed on it?
  11. WP 25 kinz lai xin jia por!!!! :superman:
  12. sorry to start a new thread but my anemone moved all the way up next to clam overnight (zzz) and i need to do something fast wondering where i should move him to? the red circle is where the anemone was and is now... was thinking either to move the clam a little left towards or down below near to sand bed but reading mix stuff on this. some say sand good some say sand not working for them so was thinking put his sensitive backside on the rock and the rest on sand to prevent anything from pecking on it www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?app=members&module=messaging&section=view&do=showConversation&topicID=148491&st=0#msg258782 http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1788878
  13. just got my clam today. delayed it a few days due to schedule and also to moniter alk. would this placement be ok? worried about the fact it is near anemone and also wavemaker but the rock seems to be the best with its concave hole holding the clam securely.
  14. ok thx.. i will use the second colour as my benchmark too than.
  15. nice bro. been waiting for your post hope i will get mine started soon. been busy right now.
  16. Hi, Been wondering which reading should i take. according to test kit instruction i should take the reading once it turns pink. should i take it once it turns colour like this? or till it becomes bright pink like this?
  17. Hi, my anemone has been sitting fine for a week on a rock when he suddenly decided move around the tank. i realize his movement is generally in low light area such as below rocks or to the rear of the tank which is block from light. Could this be because of my lighting being too strong since my tank is only 1 ft tall. sorry cant attach picture since iphone is down now (trying to update it zzz).
  18. Readin the above I am worried lol one of my anemone moved fr centre of tank to behind rocks just 4 inches away from wave maker... Hope he don't do the stupid move...
  19. ok thanks...kinda of excited to recieve henry sms today to go collect hehe hopefully is today... also glad to read from http://animal-world.com/Aquarium-Coral-Reefs/Squamosa-Clams that squamosa are one of the more hardy, less light intensive clam....only worry is alk..
  20. i am lost on this...thought to maintain sps need to have 0 no3? (good for fishes too). at least that is the idea i had on no3....which is why i bought the biopellet reactor... yet the idea i am getting now is need to have some no3 traces in water...
  21. How to see if they have settled down? Darn the rock i was thinking of is out of question liao 2 anemone there. probably take a fts when i go down to ML and seek henry advice on placement. roger that. going to ask henry show me the backside i need to protect when i get the clam cover it swee swee pom pi pi (else i kill the fish that ji siao it ) Thanks reading now
  22. ehh what is a ULNS? Sorry for another noob question...but how to know if no nutrient? ok will do i got a nice large rock to place him...btw is it ok to place them near zaos and anemone? ok probably wont use if i place on that rock coz it is large enough....i really hope mine survive...20 red notes for 1 is not cheap! 1.2 feet high to be exact. Light is 20cm away but can be lowered easily. also can ramp up white. currently at 7hrs fully on + 6hr (3 hr morning and evening) of ramp time.
  23. Intro: Having problems with my SPS probably due to alk. Cal n mg is stable but alk reading is as follows: 20/04: 7.8 21/04: 7.6 22/04: 8.3 am using redsea so decided to go irwana get salifert test kit. When i was there, i saw the blue squamosa posted here: tempted to get it...actually already got it (well i also received and sms from ML that they have them too and already reserved 1 from henry arriving tml or day after - somehow trust him more thou probably both source are the same). Question 1: worried about water parameters. From the threads i read i only know cal is important for clams but beside that would my alk affect my soon to come clam????? tank info: my LPS and Zoas are doing well...only problem i am having is SPS (still cant be 100% sure it is just the alk).... other para: no2, no3, po4, ammonia: 0 ph: 8.3 sal: 1.024~1.025 Lighting: aqua illumination colour set at 58% white, red and green, 100% royal blue, blue and deep blue for a 14kk look (dunno what the hell this means but is just info provided by reef depot would be great if someone can enlighten me...might be why my sps is suffering). tank size 2x1x1 equipment: bm curve 7, po4 and biopellet. Question 2: placement of clam: so far my understanding is place them mid tank than slowly shift down. should i place it on rock or life sand at the end? read that water flow should be low to moderate? can i use bsi gel so that it wont fall off? Question 3: food? i am feeding birghtwell zooplanktons -M, Reef nutrition: oyster feast, actipods and phytofeast, phycopure and henry reef gourmet + henry frozen food. any particular other ho liao i should add for my clam? pardon the many question....
